Quick question on remapping: IIRC the Scrambler's engine is a de-tuned engine from what used to be the Monster 796. Why not use the original Monster map then?
I don't know if Ducati handles the de-tune like BMW did with its Minis, but it used to be a matter of minutes to remap your 90hp Mini One to 115 Mini Cooper hp using the original maps...

It's the same engine but different throttle bodies (1 vs 2) and a different ECU. So I don't think you can just use the Monster 796 map on the Scrambler.

I found them on german ebay also.
Do they really work? If yes, I'd maybe give it a try...
Interesting that they are sourcing the part (as a previous poster mentioned).

Normally, I would be skeptical but the Shift Tech guys are pretty serious tuners and I doubt they would sell something that doesn't work (would reflect poorly on them). That, combined with a positive experience I've had in the past with this type of system would be tempting if I ever went the slip-on route.

Of course, a custom tune will always be better but this seems like a pretty safe/simple way of enriching the fuel mixture.

Like previous incarnations of this motor, it will be perfectly fine (wear-wise and ride ability-wise). You will need to evaluate, based on your particular preference/tolerance, whether or not the low RPM fueling is what you want it to be once you've done the mod. The good news is that you have a choice of solutions (booster plug, terms slip on map from dealer, custom tune and more on the way) if you want to make tweaks.

I would love to hear from the first few ppl who have already done the slip on (non-termi) in terms of how they feel it has affected fueling. Anyone?

Hey guys, new member here, my wife just surprised me with an Icon as a birthday present.
Any news on this topic, there's been no activity on this thread in awhile?
My dealership insists that I've got to ship my ECU away for a $300 reflash if I go with an aftermarket slip on, but the Termi choices from Ducati are out of my price range.
What's every one doing in regards to their exhaust/ECU?
Thanks,

Some Aftermarket Exhausts can be ordered with a Cat for less than what a retune costs and do not require a retune, also keeps the bike legal in countries like Germany, where removing the cat also removes the bike from legal road useage.

Hi Sarhog,

Good to have you here. I think it may be a matter of "try and see". Most of the exhaust manufacturers specify no remap needed, and sure enough, I haven't noticed a single problem with my Scorpion exhaust, but will see what happens with warmer weather. If it begins to feel too lean a Booster Plug will be my first step. This forum has an excellent search feature, the box in the top right corner; you'll find tons of info. Welcome to the forum!

I'm am close to getting a rexxer up map for my Zard low, no db.

But what if j could get the termi race map for free, would that be close enough.

Boom. You're it!

so. I've read the whole thread. My question: is the cat converter inside the can or in the pipe? If I take off the OEM can and put on a slip on (3rd party, no cat), am I not going to have a cat?

Hey folks,

Weird question but I'm assuming the Termi 'non-racing' can would not require an upmap, correct? One of these guys:

The cat on it looks to be about the same size as the stock can. Just wondering in case I run into someone willing to sell it cheap.

I just ordered a new Termingnoni Race Exhaust. We could work something out if you'd like to buy mine. I have less than 30 miles on the bike. The exhaust is essentially brand new.
