With no real word from Ducati on any specifics, including no release date, waiting for the Ducati Scrambler to come out at this point is a wait that has no light at the end of the tunnel. Are you dead set on getting the Scrambler or are you looking into other options, maybe an option that will actually be on sale in the foreseeable future.

Part of me wants to wait to at least see what the Scrambler will look like but I also don't want to sit around and wait for ever. There are other bikes that will also make me happy.

Not really. Ive always wanted a Scrambler style motorcycle. But I'm in no need to buy anything right now. That new 899 does look very attractive. Pricey.. But I do want to look at one.

It's nothing like a Scrambler but I'd love to own one. Not that I could afford the 1199

Its not like I need a bike right this instance. I am waiting for the right bike to speak to me and then I will buy it. It could be in a few days, or it could be in a few years. I just want to find a bike that I really like. Scrambler style bikes really appeal to me and I also like Ducati a lot. I don't like sports bikes. I want something far more casual.

Just to play it safe i would wait for all the upcoming bikes your interested in to come out first before you set it in stone.
I partially agree with you. Wait for them all to come because then you will get the best selection and you won't regret jumping the gun, but at the same time you could be waiting forever if something gets delayed or if you keep finding a new bike that will be released in just a few more months. At a certain point you just have to decide from what is available.

That looks like a great bike to start with. What would you want to do with it?
chop it up into a cafe racer, give it a new flavor.

something along those lines

those old CBs are sweet. I'd love to own one but they are hard to find in good condition
I know what you mean, its really just the frame i need to be perfect. Tanks and fenders are getting junked immediately. Engines can be restored and those CB parts are EVERYWHERE..

And i found these guys in jersey that do nothing but make cafe racer bits for builders. They're called Benjis, check them out if your into this stuff. theyve got a really cool customer page where they showcase all the bikes people build with their stuff. Benjie's Cafe Racers

Oh and it looks like were waiting until 2015 for the Scrambler. Now im probably going to have to build this thing :p:p WTF am i going to do for a year and half...
