What will you use your Scrambler for?

Pleasure?
Commuter bike?
Off-Road?
Touring?
Weekend Fun Bike?
Poseur Bike?

A mix of the above?

I will use it for a 25 km daily round commute to work (all urban) all year round, with Sunday morning blasts when the weather improves.

After spending too much money on bikes and cars over the years, with normally a garage full of several, I came to a conclusion- I don't enjoy any one of them as much as I would if I only had one or two. There's just too much invested (both in terms of finances and time) that they become more of a burden than a joy. With that in mind, the idea is to use my Scrambler for most purposes; general fun riding, trip out to the fish and chip shop sixty miles away, and even chuck some luggage and protection on it and do some serious touring (which is what I use my bikes for most of all).

For me, weekend fun, mild off road, putting around town, and taking my girlfriend on it for short rides since it looks more comfortable as a passenger than my other bikes. But the main reason I'll be buying it is for my Ducati rental business. I've already had people want to reserve it for next June! I think I probably won't get much seat time on it myself with all the renters :)

I am unable to ride my bike to work 99% of the time. So I ride my bikes (I keep two) after work during the light hours and on weekends. My other bike is an s1000r and even though they were made for different markets I will still be riding them both on weekends and after work. Believe it or not I have a blast riding my bmw around town doing a couple errands as fast as I can and the law allows (>:D). I will have fun on this one also, just like I did on the Harley that the scrambler is replacing.

Fun

This is bike number 3 in the garage. One is for fast, one is for far, and this one is for wife or I to just play- picnics in the park and dirt roads to pretty places. Wife gets first dibs on this one, so may need two.

Minnesota has about a 6 month riding season, give or take depending on the weather, so it's definitely a seasonal toy for me. My commute to work is isn't an ideal motorcycle commute in that it's 35 miles each way diagonally across the Minneapolis metro with lots of traffic. However, I expect I'll ride it to work a bunch depending on the weather, especially since it'll give me car pool lane access for the 50% of my commute that has the most traffic.

I'm married, and my wife doesn't love the back of a bike or have her own, so when we go anywhere together, we drive one of our cars. We don't have kids (and never will), so we do most thing together, so that'll limit riding as well.

Mostly it'll be for weekend fun and putzing around, which I think this will be the absolute perfect bike for. I think realistically I'll put 2500-3500 miles per year on it.
