A while back I had posted this snippet from the Auto Rider review of Scrambler:

In the twisties, it’s the bigger bikes that need to watch out. A particularly fast colleague claimed he was faster on the Scrambler than the Panigale 899 when the road got properly winding, and the gouge marks on the exhaust pipe confirmed his diagnosis.
Now here is a Panegale rider's vlog from Malaysia which reinforces pretty much the same. Watch the Panigale's speedo (it's in KMPH)

(Our hero makes a grand entry at 7:21)

I put about 350 miles of mostly canyon riding the last couple days on the Scrambler, and I'm honestly shocked at how fast I am on it around the corners. I think I'm probably faster on the Scrambler than the Monster and likely quicker than I was on a GSXR750, and I'm thinking it's mostly due to weight, the quick/light handling and the low gearing. I'm very impressed with the stock tires too actually.

I'm really curious about how this bike behaves when pushed hard on technical roads. Was out on in the twisties yesterday on the Monster 696 (comparable weight and power to the Scrambler), riding with a similarly experienced rider on a modded Yamaha FZ-09 (new Ohlins front and back + exhaust) and the Monster (exhaust only) performed better than I ever could have imagined. Kept up with the bigger liquid cooled bike the whole time and was often pushing the pace which really surprised me. That motor is just gold. Not bad for being down ~35HP, 150cc's and being air cooled!

If the Scrambler can up keep a similar pace, I'm going to be putting a LOT of miles on it!

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. My 796 is an awesome canyon bike, and the Scrambler is every bit as quick especially the tighter and sketchier the road. It even handled a golf ball size rock with some gravel midcorner the other day that made me go  Lots of rain lately has left the mountain roads with rocks scattered everywhere, and the Scrambler has been quite predictable in those conditions. Here's some pics of the last few days. It was kinda funny I met my fiancee and her mom for lunch, and they saw me on the freeway on the way home and snapped a couple of pictures me!
