Hi all,

Just wanted to show you all my new slip-on! It is made by an Italian outfit called McRacing and they have several options: www.virex.it

Mine is the conical version which cost me EUR 325 incl shipping. Good quality, nice fitment and a good sound. Not too loud, but more dark and full than the stock exhaust. As I live in Amsterdam I do not want it to be too loud, but you can remove the Db-killer if you want to add Db's.

Very nice thank you for sharing, how louder is it compared to the stock exhaust when you rev it up a bit? The loudness of the stock one is great for me I don't really want a louder exhaust but I want the looks and the low weight of the aftermarket. Virex looks great, I might actually think of getting one if it's not much louder than stock with the db-killer in. And does it affect the milage at all?

Hi all,

Will make a video when I get a chance to ride again (hopefully this weekend). Sound is not much louder than stock I think, although I haven't ridden the bike for more than 5 miles with the new pipe. Don't know yet about mileage, lean running and such but will keep you posted.

It indeed runs close to the footpeg but as it does not move whilst riding I think this is OK. You can mount it a bit lower which I might do as there is some flex in the system due to the links with springs.

The site is quite poor indeed, and gives more info when you leave it in Italian (which I fortunately speak a little). I contacted them by email to ask about availability but don't know how their English is. I will ask them.

Hi Otto I sent them a message on the Facebook page asking price and name of the one I like. Of to visit my family in south of Italy tomorrow so will ask a cousin to call em if I get the chance as my Italian is pretty poor too!

Otto, have you noticed that the muffler has 'fallen down' at all? I noticed that the way it mounts has the dogbone hanger pushed straight backwards instead of hanging down. Is it holding strong, or is gravity winning?

It is holding strong as position of the dogbone hanger can be fixed by tightening the connection with the frame. In addition, the exhaust itself is quite light so there is not a lot of weight to be supported, plus the exhaust pipes already put it in the correct position.

Hi all,

Rode some more yesterday and made two videos: with and without the dB killers:

More observations: the sound level is a bit louder than stock, but not by much. It runs fine with this slip-on without remapping for now, but it could do better I think. I also added some information in the "lean running" discussion.
