I like it. I would like to hear it now.

And I would like to know if it makes any difference in throttle response or feel.

Huge difference in how quickly it revs.

Before, it was no trouble keeping it below 6k.
Now, I have to watch it (for the next 200 miles :) )

The other thing - which I think is an anomaly - is that I got 59mpg out of the last tank whereas the earlier ones have been 37-44 range.

The only thing I worry about is that the bike is on the bleeding edge of lean (good gas mileage) with the free flowing muffler. I like that you said screw it and fit your own system on there. It's ridiculous what the purpose built exhaust systems cost since there are so many other mufflers that can be made to fit. I just wish the ECU was a bit more user friendly to upload maps to so that I could go directly to a tuner with a dyno and have someone set up the bike for any pipe I choose.

Its not on the bleeding edge of being lean!

Not even close.

Putting a full system on, will be on the lean side but even then its not on the bleeding edge...

There are many full systems out there that do not come with an up map.

Most of all the slip ons out there do not come with an up map.

To say its on the bleeding edge would be way over exaggarated.

I lost a ton of weight with this setup and the sound is beyond words.

Nice David, and thanks again for the pictures. I think you are on to something with this "bits and pieces" set you mentioned. I suppose there are other pipes that would work? If so, could you offer some guidance? Thanks again.

The Honest answer is: I dont know yet...

Anything CAN be made to work. The idea is to find suitable components that work and fit together, reducing fab time.

The other issue for me is/was the sound.

I wanted a lower pitch sound than Remus/Akra for example.
This definitely achieved that!
