My friend has gone down twice on his Triumph wearing a Roland Sands coat and it hasn't eaten through the leather yet. You can see on his shoulders where he slid, and the pattern of the armor though.

My goal is to not wreck :) It's nice to see people actually care about gear though. Everything I have has decent armor in it now. I just started wearing a real helmet this season and it's funny how my former helmets feel dangerous now. You never know what you were missing out on until you get the good stuff. The problem is that it costs a lot of money. This is also the first year I've been wearing kevlar and armored pants. Again, it makes it feel weird to ride to work in my dress pants.
I agree. Gear is all-important. I'll knock off on the Roland Sands slagging off, as well. :)

I don't see why people think they have to dress differently on different bikes. Whatever I ride, I wear the same type of gear. I'm going to buck the trend here. I'm going to buy a Motoport one-piece kevlar mesh suit (with a removable waterproof liner) in high-viz. I don't give a toss about motorcycle fashion.

Im with you on this. I have a few bikes and cant say I change riding gear when I ride them! My favourite is a fabric alpine star and an alpine star leather jacket both seem to get better with age.

Having said that I do love the shoes >>>>

The "right clothes for riding the Scrambler" for me are less dependent of trying to match the style of the bike and more about being safe, regardless of which bike I ride (I ride many bikes and can't be bothered to change my outfit to match every one of them). ATGATT FTW.

This is what I'm getting. One-piece, kevlar mesh, vented armour everywhere (all down the front of the legs even), zip in/out waterproof liner (guaranteed for the life of the suit). Suit comes off in seconds. In humid weather, all you need is a vest and a pair of shorts underneath. Very expensive, though. But it is kevlar and not cordura which I wouldn't trust in a bad slide.

I did not want to conform to the hipster look so I got myself a Dainese Avro C2 in black. It looks pretty understated and I think it looks pretty cool with its externally showing shoulder protection. Also it was the best fitting jacket in the shop. I wear it with a Shark Helmet, some Kevlar jeans and a pair of Icon 1000 boots. I would go for comfort over style any day of the week.

PS, I might get myself a hipster/classic leather jacket at some point.

I conformed, I bought that and had to exchange it for a larger size, but seriously... it was a really nice jacket! I got the Cooper boots, Spencer and Blackjack gloves, and the above jacket. The jacket was as nice as they said in the video on Revzilla.

I wouldn't buy anything from MotoLegends. In March I spent ÂŁ500 on a waterproof jacket and trousers that leaked the first time I used them - 6 months later I have no refund and still no goods despite many phone calls and emails. I will have to take them to court to get my money back.

Hi!

Mainly interesting for German riders.

I'm wearing a 'Cafe Racer Classic' antique leather jacket:

Nice vintage leather jacket with full protection (back, elbows, shoulders)

Fashionable jeans with aramid inner protection and knee protectors

'Bell M5X Daytona' helmet

'Streetfighter ST. FTR' boots

Good bang for the buck but still my weak point. I'm thinking about Alpinestars Sierra Gore-Tex XCR - better protection.

'Highway 1 Sports' gloves

Nice leather gloves with presumably good protection
