I've been following the popular discussion of the Duc Scramber on a Triumph forum. Seems that there is a bit of concern that Ducati's entry might hurt Triumph sales. I just found this forum and it aught to be a better place to follow the development of this new beauty.

Welcome to the site! Agreed, Triumph will feel the Scrambler, but I'm not sure if its enough to steal away the lifestyle bikers that seem to favour Bonnie...

Welcome @wabill, I take it you're a Triumph man then, what's your weapon?

I definitely think Ducati will steal a lot of sales away from Triumph considering generally speaking the Duc has more power, less weight and is cheaper that the majority of the comparable Triumph bikes. Styling and brand loyalty is subjective, but the only Triumph out right now I would be interested in is the Daytona 675.
