Haven't gotten my white plate even though I purchased the Scrambler in December and got my current one delivered more than 2 months ago. The DLT says they can do it within one day and if it takes longer, it's the dealers fault. Plus there seems to be a fine of up to 10k THB for riding a red plate more than 3000 km or one month but haven't been stopped yet.

I also haven't gotten the owners manual yet. Just received the insurance papers a week ago and the dates on there are also quite old, meaning the papers were sitting around at the dealer for over a month before they bothered sending it to me.

Not impressed with Ducati Thailand at all.

Hi Eisfeld,
For me it took over two month to get the registration.
Seems to be the standard for big bikes. So I was told.
During that time never had a red plate. Just a copy of the sales contract and a info that I am insured.
No trouble with the police. Had been stopped quite some times.
The Manual was in the post about two weeks back.
Better talk with the dealer. Should have sorted everything out by now.
Cheers

Hi Juergen,

thanks for the info about the manual, will check with Ducati Thonglor when I ask them about the plates tomorrow.

Over 2 months is maybe the standard for Ducati bikes :)
When I purchased my other big bike from Honda, it took less than a week and if you ask the DLT, they will tell you no such delays exist.

Anyways I'm not complaining really unless I get fined but that seems unlikely.

One police officer even gave me a thumbs up, seems like everyone and their dog like this bike :)

The issue in Thailand is that the Scrambler is a new model and the Licensing Bureau (or whatever they are called) did not have that bike in it's system. If you bought any other model Ducati, you'd have your plates in a couple of days... but they were not set up for the Scrambler. It is not the dealer's fault. The DLT finally got their act together and issued the Plates on Monday, to everyone.
