Termi Exhaust "Chirp" Poll

If you have a Termi exhaust and have tried the baffle, please respond to this poll.

I made a comment in this thread that my Termi exhaust note had a chirpy quality to it when the baffle was in. I hadn't heard anybody say this, so I thought it was just mine, but it turns out that it's not just mine.

I only did one ride with the baffle in before I pulled it in order to find the source of the chirp noise. As soon as I pulled it, the chirp was gone. I was hoping the baffle would just be quieter, and the chirp disappoints me a little. I am curious if this is all Termi baffles and it's just how it is, or if some baffles have zero chirp to them.

I am finding it hard to imagine an exhaust can chirp. Birds chirp, that the kind of noise you are hearing? My dealer has the Termi race can ready for the arrival of my bike but as I have not paid for any of the extras I will be watching this thread carefully...
A chirpy quality is the best way I could think to explain it. I guess you could call it a slight whistle or wheeze sound, but there is definitely a high pitch to it. When two people confirmed it in the other thread, it made me wonder if they are all this way with the baffle in.
you can just hear with mine and funnily the actual chirp from birds at start. Nothing major to me. May try unbaffling next week.

Well if thats the extent of the noise with baffle in I cant really hear the chirp or whatever. Besides the dealer was already told that I wanted baffle out from the word go :)

Yes, that is the exact chirpy whistle sound I was referring to, especially the small throttle revs around 42 seconds. It really bugs me, because I think I might prefer it with the baffle if it didn't do that. I have no idea if I'd prefer it though, because all I can do is focus on the chirp. It's not that bad, but I can't seem to ignore it.
Yeah, it has that sound like a vintage VW beetle.. Like normal exhaust sound mixed in with the Jetson's car.

It would bug me, but then again I ride mostly at night, so an unbaffled version of this muffler would bug everyone -else-.

I used to have this 'prank' exhaust whistle which was basically a metal washer with a couple of tabs.

It made a car exhaust whistle just like that. So I bet if you pulled out the baffle, it has some holes that the exhaust gas are forced to pass through. Maybe changing the shape or drilling it out a bit would solve the secondary whistling noise.

Its a little louder in reality but not so much to be Whoah !:)
It's defiantly there and I've discussed it in another thread and a fellow member from my city also had the issue. Both are baffles are gone.

My friend also has a monster 696 with Termis and had the same issue. It is some sort of air leak from the air bouncing around the baffle and trying to escape.

Annoying enough to give me a reason to keep the baffle out! (No, it has nothing to do with the fact it sounds like an axe murderer now!! )
