Ok, when can we expect after market front and rear suspension such as Ohlins and WP? Seems the OEM is an issue? Yes or No?

Barry

may be you have already seen my 3d abt Ohlins sunspension.

my Scrambler is presently at Ohlins main Italian distributor/licensed builder, they are "measure" the bike and fit it with full Ohlins kit (inner cartridge at front and full mono at rear)

They should give the bike back on friday, so Ohlins should be ready on the market asap

Did they at least offer to give you a discount when you do go to purchase? or maybe something even better? :)

What's the main difference with Ohlins suspension versus the stock Scrambler suspension? I've heard from other threads about the suspension problems but some say the suspensions fine and some say it's sh*t.

I'm sure it all matters what you're used to. I ride vintage bikes, so I'm expecting the suspension to feel like space age compared to say the front springer fork of a 1964 Allstate scooter.

Also weight matters. The bike is probably set up for some ideal weight between 150 and 200 pounds.

There will be options for the rear shock I'm sure. The fronts will either get swapped by some future complete units or Racetech will design their gold valve emulators and other companies may release new springs.

Honestly, I was thinking that thinner weight fork oil and letting some air out of the tires would probably make the whole bike very comfortable to ride. I was running my TW200 at 12 and 15 psi in the front/rear tires respectively and it made all the difference in the world when riding off road as opposed to having both tires at 30 psi.

VERY bad idea!
Unless you're planning to use it for a campground bike and ride at 20mph on dirt roads

That's awesome. Can you let us know how much it cost?

little update:

the front cartridge is fitted, I will take the bike tomorrow pm

the rear mono, could not be "assembled" using the current Ohlins parts, so it has been "measured" and will be built in Sweden, ready to be on the market around June

expected prices are almost the same for monster or hyper:

- front cartrdige with progressive springs and compression/rebound register Euro 480 + tax (Italy 22%)

- rear mono with compression register and "on-size" spring Euro 600 + tax abt

don't know abt availability, the first will be the front kit, than the mono (this not before june)

These are official from Andriani and carry a full manufacturers warranty. Grey market cartridges will carry no warranty in the US. These are available for pre-order now from SB Suspension. Check out the Scrambler suspension page on facebook.

Buying grey market is always a gamble. A manufacturers warranty covers manufacturing defects and liability. If you have a problem then shipping between Europe and the US could get expensive and timely. The price of the cartridge is very reasonable. Most aftermarket cartridges in the US cost $1200 to $1300.

I'm glad we have members from all over the world posting in the forum though because it interests me what the cost of the bike and accessories are depending on where you live. Also, at some point it may be nice having a back and forth contact when it comes to buying and shipping items. The favorable dollar:euro conversion rate makes me want to think seriously about getting these parts now while they're probably more affordable than they ever will be.

Just wondering, if you change your stock suspension to another manufacturer, does this not affect Ducati's warranty?
I asked my dealer and he said yes. found out the D*** price they want for it and it is not going to happen for me, unless I get a 2nd job. :crying:Maybe I wont mind the "harshness" when I get it next month?
