I found these bars second hand at a local bike shop, loved the look and through they would suit the scrambler.

I'm really happy with the result. They just clear the instruments, there's plenty of room at full lock so your thumbs aren't jammed against the tank, and the riding position is perfect.

I re-mounted the throttle so it is rotated 180 degrees and the throttle cable is under the bars, and also rotated the top banjo bolt on the brakes. So the big loop is gone and it's visually much lower and more tidy.

Next step is to have them powder coated, as the chroming isn't that great and there is some pitting and rust.

Which colour do you think I should coat them black or silver?

So that's basically a clubman position. It does suit the bike lowering the controls to the triple clamp's height. Two things I'd look out for (having clubmans on an SR500):

1. The sweep back looks like a pretty steep angle. If you wrists are canted outward to put your palms flat on the bar (even just a little) it's going to feel uncomfortable much quicker.

2. Keep an eye on the brake reservoir if it's not level. Given time and just sitting at an angle that fluid will start leaching its way out onto your plastic controls doing them in.

Finally all done with the stage of the ongoing project that is Princess Buttercup. Bars were powdercoated black, and I have replaced grips, levers and mirrors, and tidied up the cables.

I love the lower, meaner look, and the riding position is completely different. It feels much better through corners now, especially since I replaced front and rear suspension.

That looks awesome!

I have a full throttle coming and I too am gonna change the handlebars to rizoma drag bars even though the full throttle handlebars are supposed to be sportier already.

I also want to get new Rixoma Lux grips (I think that is what you have) and the Rizoma Feel levers (I havent seen these installed yet so will need to get the parts right).

Looking at your build it reassures me that it will look great again an awesome job.
