:( It's been ready for the last three days. No ride to get it yet, so I went down and did all the paperwork and sealed the deal. Had them install the Termi w/baffles removed & FT bars to start. Still debating on wrap or paint. I've got appt.'s with both next week. Almost went with some CRG 3", but I'm not sure I like the set up with them. Had the dealer hold them in place while I sat on the bike. As it is the FT bars are about 1.5-2" wider than the stock Icons. I'll probably pick it up first thing in the morning

did it feel like you were pivoting forward too much. its why I didn't get a monster in 2010 and got a speed3. I was sitting on the ol jewels a bit too much during a test ride. didn't have that on speed3.
And, wow the termi only improves the look!

No. It just changes your positioning a bit. I'm a small guy and it didn't affect me. Taller guys it would be a non-issue. Felt a bit more of a stretch to reach, but it's still relaxed. I was the first from my dealer to get the Termi or the FT bars. Everyone at the dealer was getting a hard on off of the changes and couldn't believe how good the Termi sounded and how much better the bike looked and felt to ride with the new bars. I was sitting there scratching my head thinking, "how did you ever not think that these would be an improvement?" No one in the dealership had heard the Termi yet, which surprised me. The mech said the bike just felt more stable and he felt like he had more control over the bike with the FT's on there.

I've given some serious, serious thought to the FT bars. They are beautiful. Once I paint the orange tank satin blk, I think the FT's will only showcase the bike more. That being said, I was worried it would compromise the ride regarding comfort. This being because I am a quarter under 5 foot 7. I changed the bars on my Bonneville to some similar to the FT bars. Unfortunately, nade a trip from san diego to Monterey to see the races and it just about killed my back as we rode the Hwy 1 the entire way. I nice 12 hour deal. So...your inout is much valued. I am hoping when my bike gets in, I can also sit on an FT model. And, crap...I already ordered the crossbar(in fat its here) which I am sure will not go on the FT bars, besides they are silver. AHHHH!!:|

I'll have more info for you after I ride it home tomorrow. I'm right there with you in the height dept. I'm a little concerned they don't turn back a bit more, but we'll see. I can always go back to stock and look at other options if worse comes to worse. Ultimately, I want comfort as well. I'm not going to look "cool" to screw my neck or back up.

That's funny. actually, I didn't know that it would hurt my back. a 2 hour ride here, a 3 hour ride there...I never noticed it really until the big one to MOnterey. Could barely move, thankfully had perscrip Aleve for another issue. If you don't mind keep me posted. Going to garage to wax friends moto guzzi v7 racer. I'm returining it tomorrow after a 6 week borrowing campaign,

Hey thanks so much for the pics. Unfortunately, I was stuck going to a Padres game or I'd have written sooner! Yes, they won.
The pics are very helpful. Although the looks are optimum, I don't think I'll go for that pretty little add-on the FT bars. I think I am ready for a more laid back riding position, on my only bike. If I had 2 bikes, I would make it like yours. Look at Asador's on this forum. Maybe u saw it. He has the crossbar on the classic and it gives it a little umph! Let me know what you think.
thx again,
Pete

Hi Chaps, I can confirm as I am also 5.7" and have the FT bars that you will only find them an improvement at the best. I also suffer with lower back issues and worry a little about the firmness of the saddle, may be it will get softer after time.

Just to clarify, the full throttle black bars are actually wider than the silver bars? That's kind of awesome if it's true. However both the bikes I have now have higher bars with a bit of pull back, sort of like a beach cruiser bicycle, so I'll probably leave the silver ones on for the time being.

Do 7/8" bars fit the gooseneck and the grips? I have some awesome TS250 bars just hanging in my garage. Those were my favorite bars on any bike I've had.

Hi, just gone into the garage and offed the Classic silver bars up to my newly fitted black FT bars and would say there is no difference width, but the FT bars are lower and I prefer that over the silver bars, cosmetically and feel wise.

I held a pair of the black FT bars up to the stockers at the dealer and they were the exact same width. From pics they look to be a lot lower, but in reality they're like an inch lower and an inch less swept back. Maybe an inch and a half in each direction.
