Someone had to be first I guess! That guy did not look confident at all when he took off - surprising too considering most everything I've read points to how easy it is to ride. I wonder if it was a demo ride for newbies to try the bike out?

It easy to ride but the quick throttle will bite if you don't treat it with a bit of respect.

The high-vis clothing must have been for the safety of others. I have a feeling a lot of these will be put down due to being the size of a Suzuki Savage but with the horsepower of a GSXR 600. A lot of small and first-time riders who aren't ready for wheelies.

I've been thinking about what the bike would be like if they do actually release a bigger engined version....
I think the balance is great now but then I sold a bigger bike to buy this. Anymore hp might be hard to handle unless you're used to it
I've a feeling Silverluxe might be right. I've started to notice I'm riding faster already, not top end but cutting in and out more because it's so darn easy! I probably need a little sense check

This is why I sold my Speed Triple. I started getting bored riding around at anything +20 or less over the speed limit because the bike was so docile at speed and had so much power on reserve. I'm hoping I can behave myself once the Scrambler shows up. 75 horsepower isn't noteworthy these days, but it's plenty to get yourself into trouble :) But really I think of the Scrambler as a Suzuki SV650 with more comfortable ergonomics. Any bike that pulls the front wheel up in 1st gear under its own power can send a guy into the bushes if he's twitchy :)

Very sad, my condolences to his friends and family.
Hedonism, could you give more details about the crash please?

Coming from a community of small airplane pilots we know about the dangers of our sport and are trying to learn from mishaps and accidents. Me thinks the same should be true for biking since risk levels are quite similar.
After 35 odd years of riding, having lost friends and having survived some stupid stunts myself I am super weary of gravel, oil, cars, and guard rails...

Safe rides

he crashed into a truck, while on highway....

that's all the newspapers said, I hope he had illness whiile riding, because it is impossibile to explaine how an high skilled riders (police man on bike....) could crash into a truck going on the same direction on straight road....

My first thought about this bike was that the throttle travel was too short. Even a miniscule throttle twist delivers a shitload of power to the ground. But, having ridden it a few times, I have gotten used to it. But I can completely understand how a novice could be caught very surprised.
