Was working to remove canister and as I stood up my elbow banged the clutch lever and it snapped :( I must have hit it at the perfect angle since it required very little forced to break.

Any thoughts on a compatible lever? Maybe a short lever would be better? Are these levers available as a fitment for a different bike?

TIA!

It could have been worse. When I was a teenager I broke the clutch lever off when I dropped my bike coming to an abrupt stop at a freeway off ramp. I had to push the bike a mile home.

I replaced my levers with a set from Pazzo Racing. They are short, folding and adjustable. They are great levers but a bit on the expensive side.

If you search ebay there is a plethora of levers available already. It'll give availability for adjustables, folding, colours, all manner of options but i don't know how you judge their quality unless someone else chips in with experience on other bikes.
I find the original clutch lever a bit of a stretch so i'll be changing mine at some point.

Depending on the relationship you have with your dealer, you could tell them what happened and they may be accommodating under warranty. Cast parts sometimes have weak points and you may have just been unlucky and gotten one that did not set properly.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a replacement, the ones from eBay are usually inexpensive and fit OK (finishes vary in quality however...black anodizing can fade to a copper color but there is a work-around: select the silver/aluminum finish...they are bare metal and fade-proof!)

I picked up a pair of Pazzo levers today in readiness for my forthcoming scrambler, I find the quality, fit and finish to be top quality and have fitted Pazzo levers on all my ducati's thus far.

I realise that they are a little expensive but couldn't imagine fitting any other brand, you only get what you pay for!!

Albie of this parish got a set of Chinese levers off eBay for about £30 as I remember and reckoned they were Johnny Potatoes, I've ordered some Chinese levers, again from eBay, that look like Pazzo knock offs, I figured for £25 I'll take the chance. I'll let you know what I think when they turn up.

Stupid question: what does an adjustable lever do?

I see the little dial. Is it tension, or progressive feel, or starting position from bar? All the part websites just assume you know rather than writing a basic product description. I'm just wondering why people buy these. I've only had solid metal levers (old bikes).
