Hello Scrambler'ers,
I searched far and wide for a review of these new flashers/tail tidy and couldn't find any so I thought I would post some information here for anyone considering them.
The kit comes in two different flavors: signal tidy only (which is what I got) or signal + plate tidy. I actually like the mudguard/plate holder behind the wheel but wanted a cleaner like for the signals.
The $150 "Kit" is plug & play. Bought it from Shift Texh on they eBay store. No wire splicing necessary and the new LED flashers have their own resistors so you don't get the "ricer flash".
Install took about half an hour but no instructions are provided so here is a brief walkthrough:
1) Remove a few bolts to get the stock flasher bracket off (see pic)
2) loosen the bolts that hold the lower plastic wheel well cover on so you can access the OEM flasher connectors (they are deep in there)
3) Cut a few zap straps to get the wires loose (just follow the stock flasher wiring...they are long)
4) Connect the new flashers
5) Zap strap the wires to your desired level of anality
5) Bolt everything back together
The added benefit of this kit is that it provides a large plate that actually seals the underneath of the tail properly (if you look at the stock set up, there's actually a big hole underneath the tail that dirt can get up into).
The flashers are really bright and their lines follow the shape of the tail for a really clean look. Overall, it's good quality and should last. Happy with it so far.
