Quick question...My wife really likes the Scrambler Classic and we were able to locate 1 70 miles from our home. I notice in the specs that the seat height is slightly over 31" and I'm worried it might be too high for my 5'5" wife. I don't want to was the trip. Anyone out there 5'5" riding a Scrambler without any reach issues?

I'm a real shorty... Something in between 5.4 and 5.5 feet tall and the seat height is perfect. Best street bike I've ever ridden regarding height, actually... However, it's also a matter of preference. Flat-footing it on both sides won't work, obviously, and I know some people who need that in order to feel comfortable.

edit: I ride an Icon. No idea if the classic has a higher seat.

I'm 5'6" 30" inseam and I was just about flat footed on the original seat- heels maybe just off the ground. After setting the preload to it's lowest setting I'm flat footed. Also there is a lower seat option and that is a solid 1-2" lower. Between the seat and lower preload setting(making sure of course it is appropriate for your loaded weight), She'll have no problems.

I think at 5'5" she will not have any issues whatsoever especially if she has virtually any riding experience in the past. The thing that makes it feel so low and controllable isn't the seat height alone but how narrow it is where you put your legs down (which incidentally makes it uncomfortable for many).

Hi! I'm 5'5", and I traded in a Harley sportster for the Scrambler (from 25" seat height to 31"). It was tough at first to get used to. I was able to reduce the preload in the rear shock by two clicks (lowest setting), and that made a huge difference. I went from tip toes to most of my feet touching down on both sides, but I'm still not totally flat like on my old bike. I am fine with it now-just takes some getting used to. There is also a difference in the seats I think in the different models (I ride the icon). I might consider the low rider seat next year if I find myself still wanting more foot room. The biggest problem I have is when I am pushing the bike around in neutral like for parking. The foot pegs are right where I would be able to push the most, and since my legs aren't quite long enough I'm just kind of slow moving in and out of parking and trying to avoid my shin hitting the foot pegs.
