Can any of you post pics of the scrambler with crash bobbins? I'm looking into the evotechs, but their pics are way too zoomed in. Thanks

My dealer has the Evotech bobbins (and Termi race can) awaiting fitting to the bike that is yet to be shipped....so count me out for now :)

I haven't seen a picture of the Scrambler at a distance with the bobbins. They all are zoomed in. :(

The tail tidy uses the original wiring, and is simply re-routed.

Nice!

Which tank bag is that joe?
Nice! Which tank bag is that joe?
I thought someone might ask that. It's made by FAMSA, my wife and I both have one and switch it from bike to bike (she also has a BMW F800R). The bag zips to a base that's fitted to the tank. The base is a really neat fit, but was actually from a 900 Hornet I had in the cupboard from an old bike. I'd checked to see if there was one for the Scrambler available, but was told - not yet. The bag is a small day bag, but we have a full size tank bag for touring.

I think a backpack works wonders. i had a bag on my speed triple which scratched it pretty well and made it shamefully ugly! Yours looks of better quality. I don't recommend wolfman tank bags

I guess we're all different, riding with a backpack is my last option, they move around and are tiring after a long day. They're also an additional hazard in an accident. But sometimes they're all the option you have, and I'd go for Kriega as they're about the only decent backpack that's been designed for use on a bike and has a decent adjustable harness to keep the load secure and stable.

I've had Wolfman bags on a few of my bikes and never had an issue. As long as the tank's cleaned and polished regularly and the bags is strapped down securely, there shouldn't be any problems.

Hi Joe Bar,
Thanks for posting this picture! I have got a red Icon on order too. Would you mind posting some more close up pics of the tail tidy? I have on order the OEM one but the Evotech seems to be a very clean solution, a pic from underneath would be really appreciated! :)

Also, I see you have the RAM ball on the handlebar clamp. have you wired the GPS to the bike? if so, are you aware of any spare power connection (my previous KTM had two spares behind the headlight)

And finally, have you also installed the Evotech clutch/brake levers? short or long? any better than OEMs?

Many thanks and sorry for the - too many - questions!

I'll try and get some better photo's of the tail tidy later. The Evotech is nicely made, fits well and was straightforward to install. It's also much cheaper than the Ducati item.

Yes, they are the Evotech levers. They work well and offer a wider range of adjustment, which is great as my wife has a weak wrist and doesn't get on with heavy clutches (hates the clutch on my Multstrada 1100). The only negative is the clutch needs a lot of travel to clear, so you can't have the lever set as close to the bar as you'd like as it drags otherwise, making neutral even harder to find than usual. We're hoping it'll get better with miles on.

Yes, we have the GPS / RAM mount on, but it's not hard wired, the GPS battery is good enough for a couple of hundred miles, so no real need at the moment.

Thanks for the pic as dealer has the Evotech bungs (still awaiting bike) and this is first pic I seen from a distance. Looks better than I thought. Tail tidy looks ok too but unsure about the number plate light housing myself. Will likely wait and see what else becomes available. Dont think I could cover my tank with a bag base permantlty as love the red colour too much :)
Thanks for the pics, it's exactly what I want for mine - I will go for the Evotech bungs as well.

Has anyone looked at Bagsters, as I usually have a top box and this bike doesn't lend itself to one - I now need a tailback

Here's a couple more of the Crash Bobbins a bit closer in while I had the camera out.

Pogo - sorry forgot to say, we have the long Evotech levers to keep the clutch pull light. Here's the underside of the tail tidy -

... and from the rear -

Next job with heated grips at the same time ......
