Just mucking around in my shed today and put some stripes on my Scrambler.
I always liked the "Drag Stripe" effect on my previous Monsters s so I thought I would put some on this one.
I just used an Ebay automotive stripe kit with some pinstriping to go with it.
If I don't like it I will just peel it off.
Excuse the quality of the photos - the light was just in the wrong place.

Looks great and I'm glad that you did it yourself with something you got from eBay. Proves you don't have to buy everything from Ducati or pay some shop. Are you going to make any other changes to the bike or are you keeping basically as is now?

Ray, is it an optical illusion or does that stripe taper as it goes down the tank towards the seat (like the black ones do)? Did you cut the wider middle strip into a taper then put the thin stripes down the side, or start with two strips of thick plus thin stripe and overlap them at the narrow end, or something else? It looks to have come out extremely neat!

Answer for Zeus and Pure - how i did it

I purchased 2 kits from Ebay.
1 - A car striping kit which is about 5m long and about 300 wide. The type you put the full length of a car - I call them drag stripes (think GT 40 Ford for example). This gave me the width I needed for the centre stripe.Yes its cut to a slight taper towards the seat. I had a few shots at it - air bubbles and getting it on straight can be a challenge.
2 - A car pinstriping kit from Ebay - they have lots of them in different widths and colours. After I applied the centre strip I applied the 2 outer pin stripe bits.
3 bits - all separate - no piece touches any other piece.
Whats next ? - I have an idea to dress up the side panels - new badges and decals - waiting on the badges to be delivered - will show photos as soon as its done.
Full throttle handlebars (if they ever get here) and I hate the lack of Compression in the suspension and I have a plan worked out with Race Tech to rebuild my suspension as soon as the first service is done. Lastly a Rexxer tune because I had one on my Monster 1100 and it sorts the fuelling out perfectly.
