She's 1 week old now, 800km on the speedo so far.

At first I thought I would change everything to black and put on the high-position-exhaust from sc-projects. but when I saw the bike at the shop I really liked the design and decided to stick with yellow and black. Also the sound of the termi exhaust was much better than expected. So i tried to stay with the original design (ducati did a great job). I just wanted to change some small parts to improve the overall quality and with the bar end mirrors I tried to underline the flat and wide appearance.

These are the modifications I did so far:

DUCATI Sport Headlight Fairing
DUCATI Billet Aluminium Instruments Trim
DUCATI Lower Instrument Panel Cover
DUCATI Belly Pan Protective Plate
DUCATI Aluminium Footpegs

RIZOMA Class Retro Barend Mirrors
RIZOMA Sport Grips
RIZOMA Handlebar Caps

EVOTECH Rectifier Guard
EVOTECH Oil Cooler Guard
EVOTECH Rear Spindle Bobbins
EVOTECH Front Fork Spindle Bobbins

The bag is a Kriega US10.

after the 1000km inspection I will change these:

RIZOMA Gas Cap
RIZOMA Mini LED Signals
EVOTECH Crash Protection Bobbins
and paint the exhaust's heat shield black

What do you think? Like my bike? :nerd:

Looks great but damnit Jerry you had me scared there for a minute. I wasn't sure if 'ciao' meant hello or goodbye and thought you might be one of the recent rash of scrambler 'defectors' selling their bikes.

I like the mods and can definitely see some of them in my scrambler's future...eventually...hopefully.

I'm totally in love with the bike! And with each mile driven I love it even more. There is no reason for me to get rid of it in the near future...

Looking great Jerry!

But does that Kriega scratch the paint?
Haven't noticed that so far. the only painted metal parts it touches are the passengers' handles and it is attached with some soft fabric. So I think the handles are pretty safe. I can not yet tell if the bag damages the color of the seat. but I think that should also be no problem...

Google images brought me here. My stock betel ring got scratched in the garage and I'm thinking about getting the machined headlight bezel. How is the billet headlight bezel holding up to the weather? Did they clear over the aluminum or do you need to keep it polished?

I installed it maybe 6 weeks ago. had a couple of hundred kilometers in rainy weather. so far it still looks good but i can't give you any long term statement.

also i can not say if the aluminum is covered with clear paint. it looks same like all the other aluminum parts of the bike. if you polish those parts of your bike, you will polish the headlight bezel as well. :)

Great mods! Question about the grips

Hi, congrats on the mods, they look really cool... I got to this thread by researching the Rizoma Class mirrors, as without knowing I am building my FT almost exactly like yours! I had ordered already the billet headlight ring, the LED signals, the front faring, had the exhaust parts painted black and was in the process of looking for the Rizoma mirror and grips. Quick question: did you have any issue with the length of the Rizoma grips in comparison to the stock grips? I had ordered the black/yellow flat track grips, but I believe the black Rizomas would look better with the Retro Class mirrors. I read some reviews on Ducati owners which point out to issue with the length and gaps compared to the stock grips, but in fairness non were from Scrambler owners, just a few Monsters.

Also, did you feel that the Rizoma bar ends to mount the mirrors added too much length to the handlebars? I live in a big city and daily commute between lanes... (legal here).

As for the bag, I will give it a try to the magnetic Ducati tank backpack.

Thanks for the help (picture of my mount so far below)

Hi. That's a really nice bike you have! Congrats!
Yes there is an issue with the length of the rizoma grips. They are about 1 inch shorter and you will have a gap between the grips and the bar ends. On the clutch side you can center the grip and you'll have a half inch gap on both sides which looks ok but the grip on the other side will have an 1 inch gap because it is attached. But you can solve the problem easily. All you have to do is to relocate the clutch and brake levers by drilling new holes in the handlebar for locking the clutch and break levers. You will have to remove the grips anyways and then it's just a couple of screws more and a bit drilling. It should take you half an hour...

By the way: I modded my FT a bit more the rizoma fenders, the outside license plate and the handle bar from the italia independent. I'll post some pictures later...

The barends plus the mirrors add maybe 2 inch on each side. In some cases I rather don't commute between cars cause I think the space is not enough. But that totally depends on the situation (red light or traffic jam?) and the size of the path...

Thanks, and keep modding!

A thought which came to mind, couldn't you attach the mirrors to the gaps at the end of the handlebars with the Rizoma grips installed (directly clamping to the bars) and use flush bar ends? Is the gap not wide enough to fit the mirrors?

Thanks!

The bar is 22mm. The pieces you put at the end that hold the mirrors are much thicker. Maybe 30mm but I don't know exactly. So you can't put the mirrors directly on the bar. Maybe there are some adapters or maybe another brand...
