Hey Scrambler Owners,

Anyone been riding 2 up? What's your 2 up ride report and passenger feedback? Comfy? Room?

My Bonneville SE carries a passenger very nicely. Would love to hear your thoughts? and a comparison to the bonneville too for those that have ridden both bikes with passengers.

Thanks!

I've had a quick ride with my other half on the back - I traded my Bonnie for the Scrambler so can compare the two. The Scrambler's far keener to accelerate, as expected with the superior power-to-weight ratio. The Scrambler's a little trickier than the Bonneville to ride silkily-smooth, so I had a few more helmet knocks during the ride.

My other half said she preferred the Scrambler for comfort, probably due to the softer suspension, and she'd be be more willing to go for longer journeys. I found the Scrambler easier doing tight filtering manoeuvres too. All in all, it's a great bike to carry a pillion on...

coming from an sv650s, the scrambler is far superior for 2up. Much more comfortable, however you'll get your pillion trying to look around you rather than above you, which might mean some more helmet knocks if they are inexperienced.

I find first to second gear change is a bit less smooth than my sv, so also watch out for helmet knocks during slow traffic. Overall very good though, it has enough torque for it to still feel comfortable to ride. My SV was fine, but became so much more boring to ride once there was a pillion.

I had a suspicion that the Scrambler wouldn't be that great for 2up riding so these positive reviews are really nice to hear. Ducati did want this to be a lifestyle bike and they pushed that old time picture with the two Italians riding the original Scrambler too so perhaps 2up riding was a priority for them when it came to design.

My better half was happy with a 55 mile ride split 15/25/15 and was happily enjoying the views of the country side. Her only complaint was it was cold. Her comparison to the Monster 1100s was the bike was a little lower and not as hard work to hang on.
I am satisfied and so is she :D

Your wife must be chill. If I took either of my kids, my wife would fry me out here in California with all the rutbag drivers. San Diego = accident capital of the USA. no joke
Hence it's x wife:D but yeah she trusts my attitude towards bikes and family. I stick to secondary roads And don't go out over 80 km/h

Hi,
I've done a couple of rides with two. It's not ideal. I'm not a fan of the rear seat handles but better than nothing I guess. When riding solo if I hit a bump I'm out of the saddle. Maybe the extra weight of a passenger would stop that but I take it easy with pillion as I don't want to find out the hard way!
Apart from my fears about suspension it's fine for a short trip however I would think the Bonnie would be better setup for pillion

My dad had a big cruiser when I was a kid, and he would take my 6 year old sister on the back and our dog (30 pound Sheltie) on the front sitting on the gas tank! Oh ya no helmets or gloves on any of them either :( My mom thought it was adorable back then which is crazy to think about now!

wow, yeah it seems safety issues have become center stage as of late. I always think it is related to the amount of people that now exist all over. Huge ratio compared to say...1981. It just increases the chances of accidents. Coupled with the increase in media over the last 20 years. I rode without a helmet from 1988 to 1991. That's when the helmet law was enacted. 3 years and 110, 000 miles approx. on my hurricane. Not one scrape! The my 1991 cbr 600 in pink and royal blue was matched to my first helmet or rather vice versa. Became kinda a style statememt. now I feel naked without it!
