Hey all,
I am trying to remove the license plate light. I can't figure out how to remove the wires from the actual light so I can re-route it. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks

connector location

I have a FT, for reference. The connector is on the right side just in front of the swingarm. Once you disconnect, you can actually run the source wire under the seat and quick connect to a NEW tidy tail license plate holder. You'll have to cut a couple of zip ties to free up the source wire to do this. New Rage Cycle has a pretty slick Tidy Tail assembly that tucks your license plate under the seat and also replaces the stock signals with LEDs. I found it difficult to completely remove the existing wire that ran from the old "hugger" light holder to the quick connector, because it's tied down under the bike in 2 places with hex nut clamps that are really hard to reach without houdini skills. So....I cut mine when I removed the ugly grabber, since I had no further need for that part of the wire. Hope this helps.

sorry to resurrect an old post of yours. When you cut the light cable what was inside? Was it a simple 2/3 wire solder job?? I am installing a swing arm mount and will have brought 18 inches of wire left. I rather not just zip tie it up. thanks
