I am 6 foot tall and the ridge in the Icon seat always seemed to be where my tailbone wanted to be. It also stopped me from moving any further back to find a comfortable position.
My local auto upholsterer removed the ridge.
Took him 1 hour while I waited and $100 AUD.
Very happy now that I cant feel any ridge and the extra seating positions that are possible.
I know the seat is hard but I am reserving my judgements on the hard seat and twitchy throttle until I sort out the ridiculously harsh suspension which I believe is undermining and contributing to these problems.

I'm curious what the ridge was made of - was it foam or hard plastic?
The seat itself is shaped with a ridge but I believe the covering is quite a hard foam - my seat has been reshaped and still has a higher level at the back but it's been 'smoothed out' with no hard lines. The upholsterer said he replaced the top layer of foam with a softer one, it has made a big difference to comfort!

After reshaping the seat, can you now ride at least an hour withOUT getting any "hot spots"? Have you ridden for longer duration?

I haven't made the change yet, but my local upholsterer suggested the same action, reshape/minimize the ridge.

I've been eyeballing my seat but have yet to take any action. Along with removing the ridge, I think I'd also like to reduce the dome of the seat and make it more flat, maybe even just a tad dished.

I did something similar to this with great results. I had a local upholsterer take off the existing cover, shave down the ridge (reshaped the existing foam), then cut deep crosshatch cuts into the hard foam in the lower section. Placed a thin sheet of padding across the whole thing and put the original cover back on and stapled. I like it a lot better. A simple low cost mod that worked for me. Just wanted to pass it on. Seems to work, I was stiff and had a sore tailbone and lower back after long rides previously. I wanted to spend some time on it and break it in before I did anything. Now when I ride I no longer have this problem.

Homemade. No need to pay 100$ or so to an upholsterer.
