I am going to rebuild my stock seat. I am using the stock seat pan with the original foam cut down and then building the cushion back up and recovering with the original cover. I have recovered furniture in the past and bonded different types of foam, so a motorcycle seat should be a snap. I own a Classic and to me it is not so much the shape but the foam is just to hard. I am going to replace the top two inches with 1 1/2 inch or medium or medium firm Sunmate foam and 1/2 inch of Pudgee foam. Pudgee foam is almost like a gel type material when compressed. I really like the look of the stock brown seat that comes on the Classic. I have just received samples of the materials and am going to send in my order tonight. Based on my weight and the thickness I am using, I think I'm going with the medium firmness. Will cost me about $100., and I think it's going to be well worth it. I haven't seen an aftermarket seat that I think looks as good as my stock unit. Has anyone else done this or had their stock seat professionally redone? I'm going to be tied up the next several days but I'll update this post with photos as soon as the materials arrive and I can start working on it.

Let us know how it goes. I'm curious to know if they glued the seat cover to the foam or not. Stapling the seat back to the plastic pan shouldn't be too difficult. Just a procedure thing, may be only remove enough staples to pull the foam out so you don't have to put as many back in.

I watched a couple videos. The cover was not glued to the foam, but the foam was glued to the seat pan. If this is the case on the Scrambler I am going to leave the foam attached to the pan and slice the top two inches off with an electric knife, laminate on the two other layers of foam, bring back the shape of the top with the knife and recover. At least that's the plan. I may add a piece of four way stretch material over the foam before putting the original cover back on. We'll see how it goes.

Had my seat reshaped today. Cut out stock foam and add 2 layers of 1/2 inch memory foam. Then used foam cut out to add to passenger area to raise back of seat. Rained on ride home so I didn't get a good test of comfort yet.

Those white panels and white stripe look magnificent. Much better than the OEM black one (though that one looks great on the yellow Icon). Great job!

Please let us know how many kilometers you can drive without feeling pain with the new seat compared to the stock one when you get time for some extensive riding. Cheers

Dude, that red/white theme looks freaking sweet! I love it!

Also, with regards to your seat, man you can see how much that hump in the seat pan really comes up. There can't be more than 1" of foam over that thing on the stock seat. That's why our a$$es are all so sore!

I'm getting my Icon seat done next week by a very well known custom upholstery guy next week. Vibration your seat looks great. S Jackson the red and white is awesome on your bike, I love the black pipes, I too will be having my pipes ceramic coated.

Probably because Don at Mr Eds did my Urban Enduro a few weeks previously. :-D

I kept the stock cover and he just reworked the foam for me. It's the 3rd custom job I've had him do for me in a dozen years. Fortunately of me, he is only one town away!

Someone on the forums cut out the little tool case on their Comfort seat and said that removing that hard lump made a HUGE difference in the comfort of even that seat. You can definitely see how that hump in the base rides up and takes away any room for cushioning. Makes the Corbin seat, with its flatter pan, look really good.

Had my seat redone. Had the seat moved back 1" so I'm sitting further back. Added softer foam for a cushier ride. Dyed the yellow threads black and replaced the yellow with carbon fiber. Rides awesome and looks a million times better as I couldn't stand the yellow.
