I like many of you have found that a ride longer than an hour on one of these bikes is a little hard on the backside. I have had two of my previous bikes saddles completely redone by a local NW saddle guy and had him go at it with my new UE. I wanted to keep the original cover, get rid of the bump between the rider and pillion, raise it slightly, and put in better cushioning. Oh, and I didn't want to change the line of the bike so much it looked like a Triumph Scrambler or Bonnie seat. Well, for between $150-$200 depending on what you want done this is the result. I am more than pleased. :D

Seat – indeed the cushion is not suitable for longer rides.
Will redo the cushioning as well. Meantime appeared an other weakness on the seat cover. On some seams dissolves the “leather” coating. Therefore will wait until Ducati comes up with an improved seat to claim for guaranty.
Unfortunately your recommend saddle maker is too far from my Home in Germany.

Zeus, the seat dip is much less pronounced than the OE seat as the bike arrived and is actually raised almost an inch in that zone. I am definitely not sliding into the tank like I was before. I do really like that it looks like a comfort version of the UE seat instead of black and a $299 price tag!

Looks awesome, Dagatago! What's the turn around time with Mr. Ed? I have a UE too, in Portland, would love to get mine adjusted in the same way. Can I use your name and ask for similar treatment for my seat?? Thanks!

Hi Tim, Sorry for the delay, been busy this week. I take it you got yours at Moto Corsa? I was 10th on the list for a UE and when the Eugene shop got one in that didn't have a deposit, I had to bail on those guys and get it instead of waiting another month or more.

Anyway, Don is booked up 2 weeks or more this time of year probably through September but just give him a call and check. Yes, you can drop my name and say you saw my post up on the forum. Just say Jim from Corvallis with the new Scrambler. He'll know who you're talking about. :D

Now that he's done it once, he should have a good idea of time and exactly how to do it how you want. Of course he can do a full custom new foam and sewn seat in leather or vinyl for you but likely $300-600 depending on complexity.

No, no added fabric but he said it was a tight fit to get it to stretch back on and have enough to staple the underside back. He used some heavy poly film between the cover and the foam which probably allowed him to get it to pull smoothly over the top instead of grabbing on the foam.

Don can do a whole new cover and full custom as well. You want brown, ostrich look, pebble grain, smooth, purple, leather or vinyl, I'm pretty sure he can do it. His sewing and seat making skills are well known with many of the adventure bike crowd. A full custom will cost you about what a new Ducati seat would cost, you just get it fitted and customized to your spec but without the Ducati logo on the back if you opt for full vs reworked stock.
