I've got about 3200K on my red Icon now and I can say it's finally REALLY broken in. It is a different machine from when I drove it out of the dealer's. The engine has tons of smooth, easy power. Fueling seems much better in lower RPM's. Gearbox, brakes.. everything has found it's place and the bike rides exceptionally well. Engine heat is not nearly as crazy as it was when I first rode her.
So I say... get to 3000K and you'll be super happy with your Scrambler.
Anyone else there yet?

So that's just under 2,000 miles, right? This is good to know, I reckon some bikes take much longer to break in and smooth out. Seems I read more like 5,000 miles for a MG V7. Thanks for the update.

Just done a 300k round trip through Bangkok to pick up my Kriega US luggage and I only have one thing to say......HOT!!!!

My tailbone is killing me, my neck is sore, my arse is red, my legs are dead but i'm so in love with the bike. No pain no gain!! I'm just coming up to a 1000km and booked in for my service on Wednesday.

I've mentioned before i'm doing a hard break but did some motorway riding today nice and steady and the bike is definitely bedding in.

Might have to do something with the seat or remove my tailbone...not sure which one yet!!

I agree. have done 3400 miles and after about 1600-1800 miles it started to feel a lot more smooth. it's a much nicer bike now, big difference.

I still have lean surge type issue at constant speeds under 45 mph.. however, hoping ducati will do something about their fuel map soon (someone implied that was the case, but not sure how true it is)

If you happen to take the cover off the seat, could we get a picture, please? I'm wondering if that hump could be cut out. A seat that constantly pushes to the front is a killer. Thanks
