Hi from the Brooklyn/NYC area!

Been drooling over the bike since last winter. I finally did a "virtual handshake" over the phone today. Suppose to be ready for pick up right now but.. I need a few days to clear garage space so I'll pick it up in a week.

Little bit about me. I've been riding for 5 years. I have a 1974 Honda CB350F that is now half a GSXR after being hit while street parked by some jerk who did not even leave any info. This scrambler is the first new vehicle I ever owned. I always love my CB (and always will) but I need another bike more reliable for longer trips. So stoked!! ..and kind of nervous.

I'm also part of a all women's motorcycle club in Brooklyn.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! Might I suggest you get a set of sliders for your Ducati Scrambler? They may not look the best and it may not help too much if a car decides to tip your parked bike but it should save it from being damaged too severely.
Ichitz! Welcome Home :)
I live In Argentina, own a Honda Rebel 250, unbreakable. But I am waiting for the scrambler to arrive here and buy one for your same reasons, a bit more power and reliability for longer trips. And also because its lovely.
Hope you enjoy Yours!
Icon? FT? UE? Classic?
Welcome aboard! An active fellow Scrambler from Brooklyn/NYC finally! Hi from Manhattan. I own a Classic, which one did you pick?

Post a pic or two of the CB! Also welcome - you'll love the new bike.
Thanks for the warm welcome! You guys reminded me I forgot to specify which bike. The bike awaiting pick up is the 2016 Full Throttle.

You'll love it with the exception of the stock seat and rear shock :)
Compared to that CB I'll bet the Scrambler will be as comfy as an armchair! Welcome aboard, and congratulations!

Welcome here! I too had a CB350F many long years ago and loved it! Back then it was new enough that it was as reliable as the sunrise. Took it on many trips. Be prepared, the Scrambler will make the 350F feel as if it had an anchor attached to it. Wait and see on the comfort level of the seat as you may decide you like it. As I understand it the FT seat is thicker than the Icon, though I could be misinformed. Take your time, ride carefully until you are fully comfortable on the bike and then ride with your brain. No need to see what a Scrambler looks like on it's side. Nicely done.

Welcome, that bike is beautiful!

Haha! That's my temporary seat while I wait for a custom made seat. It's actually surprisingly not that uncomfortable. No pain in a 50mi trip.

I heard and read a lot about how bad the Scrambler seats are. I didn't notice it on the test ride. Maybe coz in NYC, test rides are like 4 miles in stop and go traffic. :D

It's not bad, especially if you're used to sportbikes. It's NOTHING like the stock 2012 Panigale seat... I made it 70miles... to buy the race seat lol. I think the stock Scrambler seat scores well for a STOCK seat :), I just think people like to complain. It also definitely depends on your hips and body shape as well.
I used to do a lot of cycling so maybe I have a tough bum now. We'll see how it turns out.
On the other hand I'm very interested in these seats from Mugello in Thailand! I'll have to see if they offer international shipping or I might have to beg a friend to go buy and ship them to me. If all else fails, I'm gonna have to carry a gigantic extra luggage the next time I go back and visit.. but that could take a while.
I'm with you on those Mugello seats, please post up if you learn any more about them.

Finally brought her home! Now let the accessorizing begin~

Some thoughts after initial 30 miles:
- Being a small person, the FT seat did not bother me at all. Then again, it's only been 30miles
- I think the handlebars are a little too wide. Might need to look into options
- I must get a throttle tamer!

The toughest part was trying to fit in the garage..

Congrats! I'd say give the throttle a few more rides before you change it. I know a lot of people here were happy they waited as they got used to it. I'm also fairly small and light, and the seat doesn't bother me until around the 100 mile mark. After ~100 miles or ~3 hours, I start getting very uncomfortable in the manhood area, but it sounds like you won't have that issue :D I suggest trying everything as is until your first service at 600 miles to see if you perspective changes. It may save you some money too! FWIW the only mod I've done so far is the Remus exhaust, but I'd like to change the seat eventually and the rear shock (Ohlins probably) and front forks (undecided) this coming winter.
Ha~
Thanks DenverDuc. I'll definitely wait a bit since.. after putting money down on the FT, now money is a bit short :D Altho on the throttle issue, it's fine stopping and going but due to NYC's many many bumpy roads, certain bumps will cause my hand to move and result in a sudden shift in the throttle.
