It is my experience that if you ride with a helmet and ride as though you love speed, there will only be admiration when you take off the helmet and reveal the white and/or the bald. I'm 67. And female to boot. But, you know, ultimately it's about your own internal sense of dignity.

I'm a 59 year old female. How could you possibly draw ridicule, you will look great. As for the need for speed, I reckon there's no point in going faster than the speed limit, if you do, the world will miss out on how cool you look.
