I need to make the first revision for my scrambler icon and I was thinking to buy the oil and oil filter from the internet.
In the manual it says that it is recommended to use Shell Advance Ultra 4T but it isn't specified which type.

Is it Shell Advance Ultra 4T 10W-40 or Shell Advance Ultra 4T 15W-50?

Also I can't find in the manual which oil filter should I buy. I found K&N KN-153 and also COF053/H301 Ducati. Don't know exactly which one is better but I think both are okay.

I'll be using a K&N 153. I think the ideal oil for me into the future is Motul 7100 10W40. They don't really 'sell' Shell Advance Ultra 4T in the USA. I found some, but it's like 40 dollars/quart which is so far beyond ridiculous.

Just a weird aside, Shell Rotella T 15W40 (cheap diesel oil) is actually JASO MA rated. I'm pretty sure you could run it in this bike with short change intervals of 2000 miles and be completely OK.

Any of the top branded 10w 40 is good enough, the premium stuff is fully synthetic.(Shell, Motul, Castrol, Mobil, etc). Have a look at the temperature ratings for the oils and climate you live in to pick the right weight and viscosity.

I'm using shell advance ax5 15w40 mineral oil for my break in right now and will change to the factory Shell advanced ultra 4T fully synthetic around 2500kms.

Hope this helps
