Ralph and all interested

I received this email last night from healtech:

Hi Steve,
I have some good news already:

1) We have managed to solve the problem and the GPDS-D02 (C09) is in production now.

It will be in US stock in about 10 days.

I think you deserve an explanation what was wrong with the C08:
Initially we got a new Scrambler for testing from a Ducati dealer which is 300 miles away.

The bike was so new, it had 0 miles in the clock and did not have papers and license plate. So we were asked to test it on a rear stand only. We made the C08 and it was working perfectly on the stand.

After your report, we borrowed this bike again and we managed to road test it this time. It turned out Ducati changed the communication protocol on this bike and they put the front+rear wheel speed info into one data packet. So when the front wheel was turning, it screwed things up. This is why you also had no problems when the unit was tested on a rear stand.
I can assure you the C09 will work perfectly both on the stand and on the road :) We are sorry for the troubles.

Kind Regards,
/Norbert

So for those of us that have the unit installed, the seller will need to replace the current unit. If you paid for installation service, it hurts although they did offer me a discount on the QSE (quick shifter unit if I wanted to add that also) for my troubles. I am satisfied with the response.

Oh crap! I just received my Healtech GIpro DS - GPDS-D02 (C08) today by mail. So what should I do? Contact the seller to send me the 09 instead?

thanks Baimo. Received a reply from my seller in UK. They too have recd. a notification from Healtech about this issue. They've asked me to ship back the C08 and they will dispatch the C09 once it's in stock.

You have a picture of this installed? I would like to see how it looks on the Scrambler.
I have a picture of the first install in the center I can show you, but when I got the second unit, I installed indicator on the side of the brake reservoir. Much better placement as I needed that center space for small bag.

I am looking at different options on where to mount a gear indicator. Having the midnight tint Dart screen is great as means I can use some sort of braket and mount it and not visible from the front.

Good idea. It's a fairly large and bright LED and can be readily seen by passing motorists when placed next to the brake reservoir. Though not yet secured in the video below, it comes with a sticky film in which you can mount it to any flat surface.

Anyone know much about these gear position indicators? They look pretty good, but aren't plug & play, so you need to do a bit of wiring.
PGR-1000 Series
One of the guys tried it on their streetfighter and was unhappy with it. Forget the issue but if you search the Ducati Forums (I forget if it was ducatifighter or ducati.ms forum) you might find what they had issues with.

Thanks Baimo, do you know if the Healtech unit you are looking at has the ATRE feature, sounds like if it did it would smooth out throttle response issues people have been reporting.
