Hi all,

My low fuel light came on yesterday around 115 miles (185km), then I rode about 10 more miles (16km) to the gas station. During these 10 miles, the power felt like it was surging - like fuel delivery wasn't good. But it still had plenty of gas in it - it usually takes 3.0 gallons (11.35L), this fill-up took 3.1 gallons (11.7L).
After the fill-up, I continued on my ride home and noticed one more surge. When I got home I flipped up my helmet visor and noticed a louder sound than usual coming from the tank area. I turned the bike off and then turned the electronics back on - the fuel pump sounded way louder than normal. Same thing today - very loud, whining fuel pump. Any ideas why? Bad pump? Something else?
The bike is still ride-able; I have an appointment at the shop in two weeks.

Thanks!
Scott

Fuel pump may be defective (although I must say that the Scrambler has a relatively loud fuel pump to begin with). It shouldn't get louder and the surging tells me that something is wrong. Definitely take it into your dealer and don't stray too far from home in the meantime in case it quits on you.

Agreed...

All except for the "Scrambler has a relatively loud fuel pump" part. Mine is dead quiet, I can't even hear it.

Maybe that's because the fuel pump on my Buell is so loud, and that's what I'm used to.
