First set of crash bars for the Ducati Scrambler I've seen!

The blend in very well but what exactly are they protecting ?

Its hard to see from the pictures supplied how far they stick out but it doesnt look that much.

I would need to see a picture from the front or looking down.

Hmm, not sure how good they would actually be, sure they blend in and all, but ....... Not for me, that's just my opinion.

I do not like the look myself. My guess is they are designed to keep the frame touching the floor as well as protecting oil cooler from drops

Looks like it covers the oil cooler, and possibly part of the header?

Just adds unecessary weight and looks plain ugly.

It'll be good for mounting extra lights. I think a set of sliders would be a good investment too.
