The new monster has been spotted and confirms everything we've been speculating about the Scrambler/Monster relationship..

From a cycleworld article:

"The next-generation Monster family will be more important than in the past and will also reach much higher performance levels, as can be expected by the adoption of the 1198 Testastretta 11 degrees unit for the top-of-the-line version. This engine will not produce less than the Multistrada’s 150 horsepower and will more likely reach the 160 hp of the Diavel."

So clearly the Monster is being moved upmarket with a hotter selection of engines suggesting the 696cc will be left exclusively to the Scrambler. And if the Monster is moving upmarket Ducati needs something entry level, The Monsters current entry level is still a little prohibitive price wise so that also supports our thoughts that a new Scrambler will come in priced under current entry level Monsters.

Here are some camoed spy shots...

I find it funny how they still use camo to cover bikes. You can still see the shape of the bike since there is so little area. Doesn't look like there is much change but I could be wrong.
haha same here, it works well with cars but on bikes theres much less going on that camo doesn't really help. at least it gives us a hard time to make out the lines.

there isn;t much you can change anyways for looks. the couple of fairings. I would be interested to see if they ended up with a new design for the headlight.
doesnt look like it, I really hope the Scrambler doesnt get the monsters headlight. I know people go nuts for the Monsters headlamp but personally i cant stand it. I want something round and coned just like the original. If they dont give me what i want I'll just change it...

Yeah I agree the monster headlight is over rated. I would just keep it straight scrambler style without mixing in the monster looks. It would be confusing...

I think the round headlight is a definitive part of the Scrambler style, so I can't see Ducati getting rid of it. It just wouldn't be what people want/expect, and therefore it would be a bad business move on Ducati's part.

I'm not worried.
