Had the FT bars fitted today - it looks so much better - the originals are comfortable but look so spindly - now its not so much like riding a wheelbarrow - I haven't used it much but my first impression is its not quite as "neutral" in its riding position - I am reaching forward a bit but this seems to have taken my arse away from the transition part of the seat which is good news.
My mirrors are just cheap ones - I wanted the small rectangular glass bit - I have remade the stalks by welding and bending a bit of 10mm round bar - reduces the mickey mouse effect a bit.
My tank badge is just a 3D gel Ducati Swoosh - tried to do something different but it looks a bit plain - I will give it some time and if I change my mind I will just peel it off.
When the Dealer fitted my new FT bars today he noticed my "low" front brake lever - bled brakes for me and its much better now.
I pointed out to the dealer how they mounted my Termi and jammed it under the rear footrest (like a lot of others on the forum) so I showed him how I fixed it.
That's me up to date - Let The Good Times Roll - Ray.

Solution to badly fitting Termi - 2 posts

Solution for badly fitting Termi Exhaust (I have to split the photos between two posts - I don't know why it wont allow me to do them in one post)
Firstly - an apology to anybody who has posted a similar solution.
I will put this on both Scrambler forums.
My Termi was dealer fitted and the bracket on the Termi was jammed solid under the foot peg arm ( like so many others).
This negates the benefit of the rubbers in the hangers and places stress on the whole exhaust system plus transmits vibration through the bike. I can't understand how anybody could mount it this way and not know it was wrong - no wonder we dont trust dealers.
Please refer to my photos for the simple solution.
The main points are:
* Its simple - took about 15 minutes.
* There is enough "meat" in the top of the bracket. Even the original welds
are untouched. There is no weakening of the mounting.
*This is the "relaxed" position for the mounting of the Termi. I
removed/replaced it enough times to know this is its natural position. It is
not under any stress or force including the header pipes.

I think I know why this problem has happened - if you look at the bracket on the Termi (from the outside) you will notice at approx the 2 O'clock position there is a cutout similar to the one that I have filed at the top of the bracket. I believe this cutout was meant to be at the top of the bracket but the communication between Ducati and Termi went very wrong in the design/development stage. There is no other reason for that cutout.
Hope this helps a bit.

Badly fitting Termi - 3rd post

The above 2 posts are from a previous thread. I am not good at quoting so I have just copy/paste - I had to use 2 posts because the photos didn't want to appear in 1 post.
Thumper - I tried to mount my Termi directly to the eyelet under the footrest and the termi has to be forced into that position - lots of force - so on my bike that is not its relaxed position (read - its proper position).
Hope this helps a bit - Ray.
