Hi All

I am a newb to this list. But not a novice.

I recently purchased a Scrambler 800 Classic with 4500 miles on and which has a racefit exhaust with db killer fitted and a standard air filter.

Bike runs very rough between idle and 4k after that it fine and idle is okay. But it’s not fun to ride at all, and it’s my first Ducati (I have had many other bikes though).

I have put new plugs, air filter and changed the oil. This made no difference. If I take out the db killer its maybe a bit worse.

When I turn on the ignition the dash says RACE which I assume means it’s got the Ducati can map already in the bike?

My question to you, is after reading this forum it sounds like I need to get it on the dyno somewhere and remapped. But Is what I describe a map issue or should I look for any other known issue first.

I have a similar issue with my 2017 ICON. The engine runs fine, but the bike surges slightly a constant/low speeds. This seems to be a common issue related to low-speed/low-RPM fueling due to lean ECU mapping and 02 sensors in "closed loop" mode. The consensus seems to be to remap the ECU for your specific exhaust & air filter and disconnect the 02 sensors. Please note that if you just disconnect the 02 sensors you will get a warning light. Some maps (like rexxer and upmap) will disable the warning light. You can also get special plugs/connectors on ebay that trick the ECU to make it think the sensors are still connected.

I just ordered one of these devices to remap my ECU. I will post the results in a few days.

Hi.

Yes you are correct for sure.

I had the bike set up on the dyno and remapped in the end. Its a different bike now. I would recommend getting it done as it just makes it so much more fun. I removed the o2 sensors as well.
