Mine was initially hard to not get past it pulling from 1st. Now at 2500 km it is totally smooth, even when completely stopped, from 1st or 2nd no problem. Either my foot got more ducy or it broke in.

Besides: What oil temp do you get in Abu Dhabi? Did you install a thermometer plug? Just wondering how she will heat up in summer....

were any of these things evident on the air cooled monster? everything I read online and in magazines talks about false neutrals. sounds like they are working themselves out. what do you all think, that actually have scramblers already?

During my first 600 miles or so, I too was struggling to find neutral, (I was also experiencing a lot of false neutrals and a horribly clunky upshift from 5th to 6th). Having taken the bike in for it's 1st service, the dealership agreed that there was a problem with my clutch assembly so took it apart and reassembled it. (They told me that the factory had used the wrong size plates to assemble my clutch).

This seemed to address the difficulty finding neutral, however, the rebuild introduced a new problem. Now the friction zone on my clutch lever is too far out on it's travel. Makes slipping the clutch during slow manoeuvres very tricky.

I'm taking the bike back in on Saturday to have the clutch disassembled and reassembled again... Fingers crossed this time - (it has somewhat spoilt my 1st Ducati ownership experience... Still got my eye on a Diavel though...)

Anyone else having a bit of a 'mare at times hitting neutral? Mine was fine at first but just lately it seems to find neutral the easiest if I drop into it from 2nd, rather than up from 1st.

Tighten the clutch cable. As it was fine at first it's probably just the cable settling in. I had to adjust mine after a few miles and difficulty in selecting neutral.

I also found that it helped to adjust the clutch cable after (if I remember rightly) about 300 miles.

Yeah, I agree that there ought to be a reasonable degree of adjustment to fine-tune the clutch operation, however, my dealership's Service Manager has already had a good look at the bike and adjusted the cable as far as he dare - it still isn't operating correctly. As such, he's had to order in a new set of clutch parts which he's going to install later on today. Fingers crossed it's sorted out this time...

I've had a couple of false neutrals but think it was due to me not being positive enough with the gear change. As for finding neutral, I struggled a bit at first but need to pull the clutch all the way in to make sure it slips in easily - if you don't you may find it hard to locate!

there's an actual fault with mine, not sure what yet though, but the guys in the Ducati couldn't even get it into neutral when I dropped it off. Hopefully they'll sort it easily enough and get it back to me.

I've only got 50 miles on mine and once it's warm-up Neutral is hard to find if at all. Went into neutral once and the light wasn't on. I don't think I'm going to take it in for servicing until I put more miles on it to see if it settles down or changes. Sometimes it just won't go into neutral at all.

490 miles on my Icon and occassionally I have to take a few jabs at finding N before it slips in. Most of the time, though, it goes in on first try. My gear box is still stiff going from 5th to 6th, and requires a fair bit of upward pressure. I'm hoping after full break-in the gear box will get smoother.
