Hey everyone. I'm loving my scrambler icon. Super fun to ride. Really happy with it ...except for one thing –*there's a dearth of spots where one can attach stuff, and I'm curious what ideas and solutions people have come up with.

The biggest thing for me is I've found no good place to attach a second helmet. There's not really any proper sissy bars, and if attached it to the frame under the rear of the seat, the helmet would hit the rear tire.

The same for bags.

Would love to hear people's solutions on this. I like to keep a clean silhouette, so am not really interesting in bulky rear-mounted helmet cases. Being scrambler owners, I imagine you feel similarly which is part of why you got into the bike in the first place.

I've used a disc lock with a cable to secure my motorcycle and helmet at the same time. The cable attached to both helmet and brake rotor will help prevent you from forgetting about the disc lock :)

The disc lock and cable easily fits under the seat compartment.

As for a sissy bar.. Best if you can find a custom fabricator for that.

Thanks MotoChief. That is the kind of cleverness i was hoping to find, which I do not possess myself. I didn't even realize there were to screw holes sitting there.

Xtyling – where should I even go to ask for fabrication? I'm in the NYC area, but I mean, are there metallurgists you can call up to get stuff like that made?

One of the neatest ways for creating extra lashing points for luggage straps and cargo nets as well as giving a passenger something to hold on to is a simple grab rail. Really neat and doesn't interfere with the looks of the bike at all imo.

Here is what I do if I feel I need a deterrent.. I use a bright colored cable to point to the disc lock and hope that is enough to persuade crooks to look elsewhere and leave my stuff alone.

Note, the weakest point in my setup is my cable. I use a relatively thin cable that can get cut with a good pair of wire cutters. The disc lock is sturdy enough to take enough abuse that the rotor would likely get damaged in any attempt to disable or cut the disc lock. But I use my best judgement where and when i park my bike to really avoid a bad situation.

No need for metallurgists.. Just a good machine and welding shop should be able to make something work for you. Sorry I can't refer anyone to you. I live in the Philippines.

Joe Bar: that is a sweet and clean grab bar. You could build a business on selling those.. I'm sure many others are interested.

I love this post. Love reading about the possibility to leave your helmet on your bike. If I do that here in my country... pf..... no lock can stop these Mother F******.

The grab bar looks to be the DM Telai make. They also make a luggage rack version, and either can be purchased online. Mine came from Winding Roads in the UK, and they were responsive and had quick shipping once a payment issue was resolved.
