Finally got my yellow icon saturday morning after a few months of waiting.. I'm not a big fan of the yellow color 2 hours after I was plasti dipping it :

4 layers of gun metal plasti dip and 2 layers of gloss . I also Wrap the side plates. Black Plasti Dip on the sides and around the head light . Here's the result. ( cell phone picture ) .

I finally Wraped matte black the side panels. Still need to put back the badges with velcro. Still note sur if i'll put back the original one or something different .

Next mods = Put new badges on the side tank + black Ceramic coat the exhaust line and tip + bar end mirrors + Tail Tiddy + removing all the ugly stickers everywhere on the frame

Looks awesome! Be suuuper careful when fueling up. Plasti-dip + gasoline = bad news. Even a drip on it.

And how did you paint it?

I removed the 2 fenders completly off the bike was really easy , on a few screws.

For the tank : I only lifted the tank up and cover everything else on the bike with a plastic sheet ( see pictures #1 and 2 ) . I used plastidip so really more safe then normal paint.

If I still like the color after the end of the seasons I will remove the plasti dip and ask a shop to do a proper paint job.

No far worst, it basically melts it... Plastidip is a rubber type membrane, applied liquid but dries to a solid. Gasoline removes it essentially.

A few more steps done today . Home made Tail Tiddy, removed all the frame stickers, ceramic coated muffler and heat shield , powder coated side pannels.

Next steps = Mirrors , flashers and seat

I had planned to plasti-dip the tank panels, but doing the whole tank and fenders is stepping out! It looks pretty good. Very FT like.
