You know what I haven´t seen yet. A BACKREST Kit for the Scrambler.
I know... everybody will say i am crazy... it does not fit the scrambler design lines or purpose. But just think about how great would it be for you to attach in a simple way a Backrest for you partner to hop along and cruise a long journey... you arrive at the location and take it of... and go nuts.
I think it would be a great idea.
What do you think? to ridiculous?

Hey I wont be so rude with my words but I will refrain from having one. Don't get me wrong I see them suitable on some bikes but other than luggage carry system like ventura I would not. Even they look wrong on some bikes like roof racks on cars and never used.
Build it and see and it may surprise a few. My friend has one on an xt500 and looks decent so we could all be wrong,;)

I had a Corbin seat once that had a removable backrest. The backrest slotted into the back of the seat. It was just big enough to be comfortable for the passenger and easy to take on and off. Just the thing for a day out with the girlfriend. Then you put back on the shelf in the garage. 20 plus years ago so I don't know if anyone makes something like that anymore.

You see alot of them on Harleys and Ducati even stuck one on the ill fated Diavel Touring

Backrests I mean, not that Corbin thing.

Thanks a lot! I will probably make something custom made...
I still think is not a bad idea. it goes with the use each person gives the bike... I think.

Are you looking to do it for style or for practicality? I had a removable one on my last harley and it actually looked ok but I only out it on when my wife was in the back - she loved it as it felt safe and she even almost fell asleep on highways etc.

My advice would be try and make it with a quick detachable system - have a look at the harley one as it takes literally 30 seconds to attach / detach.

I'd you're adter luggage space, saddle bags would make it a better everyday option.

quite right Silverlux!
Thanks for that picture. It is actually not bad at all what they´ve done.
I will try it sooner or later. Once I have the bike of course.

Yes Feli, it is just for practicality. For my wife actually.... and long trips.
100% with your opinion on quick attach/detach system. That is the key.

At the end of the day its your bike to do whatever and some may not like my Rizoma bling too and some may rip all the stuff off and have a very basic bike.
My plans are a bike that can be 2 styles. Scrambler and street scrambler.

Things like making a single seat would suit me but I fear Ducati design their bikes not to be modified that easily under the seat area. I believe that the older bikes had a single seat so a rack on the seat part could work like my friends building a Dakar XT500 and that has one.

Draw some plans and let the forum see .

Theres plenty of areas on that rear tube frame for modding and theres the m8 threaded nuts for the pannier mounts.

There is supposed to be a rear luggage rack in the works. Once that is available, it should be possible to add a quick release sissy bar to it.

Or just add a bag such as this and get storage & a passenger support...

There are several types of these in various sizes from different sources.

example:

Biker's Friend Motorcycle Bags - Harley Davidson - Honda - Yamaha

I thought of this also, but did not found the right one yet. will keep on looking for a solution.
