Its going to be Ducatis answer for the the NineT. So NineT is a stripped down R1200, enough of this nonsense we've been bandying about how the Scrambler will be low cost low displacement. NOPE, not at all Its going to be a stripped Strada complete with 1200cc L Twin and desmo valves.

Its going to be a pure margin parts bin bike just like the NineT, Guaranteed*

The cost to do that would be way more than i'm willing to put in.
It sounds great but it would be very expensive. I can't imagine the Scrambler being 1200cc. The idea of making the Strada stripped down is pretty cool though. And it would make sense if Ducati was trying to take on the nineT because it seems to be doing pretty well.
the feck are you guys talking about. So you think to develop a motorcycle from the ground up is cheaper than stripping an existing bike and using parts already in house on an existing assembly line?

LOL the nineT sells for less than the R1200GS and $150 more than the R1200R... so yea, parts bin FTW..
at this rate

im going to call the ducati scrambler an air motorcycle because it doesnt look like its ever going to be released.

Fair enough, with the way things are going, no official info, no reports, no nothing, not even from journalists, it seems like it could be a no-show
yea it doesnt look good

i love how that NineT looks though

But I heard its kind of shoddy quality

Really?
Didn't think that would happen with a bike like this, seems like BMW wanted it to be some sort of iconic bike, built to be right the first time around. I guess not
thats what i figured

but the folks on the ninet forum say there are some parts that are kind of cheap

Thats not good at all.
I guess no bike can be perfect, has to be some sort of flaw to it.
yea. but its not a cheap bike

so i am a bit shocked
Even guys who bought the new Ducati 899, which is probably as much or more than the NineT had problems. Even the 1199.

I was also shocked but it goes to show, even with an expensive bike, this stuff still happens
expensive doesnt always mean it'll be trouble free

sometimes the basic stuff is less prone to troubles

This is so true. More features more problems.
