So, how many of you are running around with the Termi pipe installed and not had the remap done yet. I've heard conflicting reports on how much improvement the new fuel map is. Even here on this site some of the dealers seems to say "no big deal", or the new map has a corrupt files on it and won't load. "Should be ok to ride until the replacement map comes in" someone said the dealer told them. I'm going to have it done soon. Just wondering how many are in the same boat. Thoughts?

I just came home from my 1000km service and had termi installed + remap done. Throttle is more aggressive and responsive. It just feels much better. Cant explain it. I guess my post wasn't very helpful, because I havent driven without remap done. But difference between termi+remap and default is a big one.

I'm running mine without remap at the moment - i don't find it faster or more responsive - just louder! :)

You can certainly run without it but the Ecu won't allow any extra performance by having parameters set for cat and loads of restriction and back pressure still... It'll run lean as a result. If you have the bike for 100,000kms you might notice some wear later in life!

a) is there a con to running non stock exhaust with no mapping mod?
b) what is the optimal (efficient, effective, economic) way to tune an aftermarket?
c) probability of warranty being void with such mods?

my general concerns here...

grammar, logic, rhetoric... in that order ;-)

Have an appointment for tomorrow morning to get the remap done. It's going to be interesting to feel, hear the difference. I've got about 100 miles of "being very careful" of not over stressing the motor in the lean condition. Will update after plug and play is done. :)

a. Yes, you won't get the maximum benefit without the appropriate map.
b. With the proper map.
c. None.

Remus quote a couple of extra bhp with their Scrambler exhaust (decat). I don't very much whether on an engine with such a modest output, a different map would add a great deal to performance.
