Call the dealer! Its an issue with the Oil pump/Engine. I faced a similar issue with my classic and the dealer had no choice but to replace it with a new bike.

I had put 30 miles on it and it stalled at a traffic stop and never started.

How many miles have you put on it so far?

That looks to me like a battery with a dead cell.

Check the voltmeter as already suggested, or put a meter across the battery. You could also attach jump leads from a known good battery, (if you do this from a car I would suggest you don't have it's engine running).

A single cell can fail due to a manufacturing fault, leaving the battery with 10 volts available.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll check the voltmeter and the battery tomorrow after work. I've also emailed the dealer (Ducati Manchester) with a link to the video so we'll see what they say. I'll report back.

Well, it *sounds* like a battery issue. A few peeps on the forums have mentioned their batteries going bad early, maybe try and hook it up to a tender overnight and try again? Otherwise, yeah I agree with others to have your dealer take a look at it if you can get it over there.

I had the same issue when I tried to use my 5Ah lithium battery to crank the Scrambler... I guess the CCA was not enough to crank it over so it kept "resetting"... now the Shorai has much higher CCA, so it cranks easily

My guess here would be a faulty battery.. good luck!

It is either a dud battery or a poor connection to the battery, live or ground. When the starter is engaged the volts are dropping and causing the dash to reset.

Spot on. No offense to OP but that is sort of basic mechanic/electrics....
If I had basic mechanics or electrical skills I might have been able to diagnose the issue as easily as you. Since these are not a prerequisite for motorcycle ownership I don't have them, and hence I asked for some advice from people who did.

Many thanks to everyone else for their constructive feedback. I've shared the video with the dealer who I suspect is in agreement with the majority of you about the battery, but advised to ring Ducati Assist and have them transport the bike to them so they can confirm. Hopefully this is a straightforward warranty issue and simple repair. Bike being picked up tomorrow.

I'll post back again when I have more so anyone who experiences something similar might find this thread useful.

No worries. Next time you'll know what it is.
