I purchased a 1965 Ducati 250 scrambler new and rode the bike for 6 years, so imagine my surprise to see the roll-out of this contemporary bike. I think I want a new Scrambler and what better place to gather information and impressions than this forum.
Last week I found a dealer who acquired a bike from the press event in Palm Springs and was allowed to sit on it. I'm 6' 1" and it seemed just right, not too large (or heavy) not too small. Maybe a nickname should be Goldielocks.
The only problem was that I could only look and sit, not ride. I may put a deposit down on a new classic soon.

I had the same concern (hadn't even seen it yet), but after reading all of the reviews back in December, I felt comfortable ordering one. Sitting on it in early February quelled any fitment concerns. Also, I knew they would be in high demand come spring, and I wanted mine as early as possible.

If you are thinking you might want it soon, you probably want to find out from your dealer what their allotment is and how many are left. A guy posted on another forum that he just put down a deposit, and his dealer has sold out of the initial allotment already. He was told to expect it in August.

Welcome to the forum! Let us know when you decide to put in your deposit. I wouldn't think less of you for waiting it out to see if there are any early problems with the new model though.

What's the temperature down in California right now. I'm Canadian so I'm just always thinking about the weather. :p
