Greetings from Arizona! I've had my red Icon 2 weeks, it is my first Ducati, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite motorcycles in 40 years of riding :D I'm looking forward to learning & contributing in 'The Land of Joy'... :)

I bought my Scrambler at GoAZ motorcycles in Scottsdale after a demo ride on a yellow Icon. I got hooked and decided I'd have one sooner or later, both of which seemed to come pretty quickly... LOL
Nice! Did you put a deposit down before hand or did they have some in stock for you? Mind if I ask how much you paid for it OTD? I'm looking to buy one and possibly from GOAZ!

I'll first say I bought a used BMW F800ST from GoAZ about 6 months ago. After their Ducati 'roll-out' events I arranged a test ride on the yellow Icon demo bike they received. Previously they had no inventory of Scramblers - everything was on pre-order/deposit basis. I met my salesman Laszlo (good guy :) at the beginning of his shift and after some paperwork off I went riding into 'The Land of Joy' LOL. During the discussion after my ride his sales manager let him know of a brand new red Icon just put on the showroom floor for sale - neither of us had seen it. I went home and decided I had no room or extra money for 3 motorcycles - something had to go and it was the BMW (my 2001 Triumph Bonneville is a keeper :) The price of a new vehicle is usually a negotiation/adjustment between trade-in value and whatever they're willing to give up on the MSRP/freight/setup/doc fee/etc side of it. It's often hard to negotiate on a brand new model with high interest. I chose to let the deal 'work out' to paying MSRP and their 'setup' fees, etc ($10800 total) and accept a very favorable amount for my trade - I'm happy enough with 'the deal' ;) I don't know if they have other Scrambler stock (RideNow Euro does). FYI, GoAZ is hosting a 3 day Ducati Experience tour starting today. I may go tomorrow just to get a closer look at the other Ducati's and soak in the environment :)

So YOU were the one that bought the red icon the next day! We must've been in the shop on the same day and I passed. I'm picking up my full throttle this weekend hopefully!

You must have seen the bike the day GoAZ and I agreed to terms by email/phone - I picked it up the next day. My 'yellow' demo ride and first look at the red Icon was 6 days prior.

A Full Throttle Scrambler - nice :) Did you pre-order one and are finally taking delivery? Or does GoAZ now have the Full Throttle version on hand? I haven't seen one yet in AZ, but it would have been a tough decision as it has more of the street look I tend to like. That said I'm very happy with the look and ergonomics of the Icon. I'd have never guessed the higher dirt style handlebars would work for me, but they now seem natural and I'm not thinking of swapping them out anytime soon. Good luck with your Full Throttle acquisition!

Ah must have been! Yes, I put a deposit down for one back in October of last year and it finally came in. I'll be there tomorrow watching them assemble it. They kept it in the crate for me since it's my first new bike purchase.

I love the Icon as well, and truthfully the Classic and the Urban Enduro. Pretty much like them equally. I started to lean towards the Icon to save a couple bucks but it would've meant going to the back of the line.

It would be cool if they get it done while the Ducati Experience Tour event is going - I bet you'd get plenty of people looking at the end result, including myself :) If we make it up there I likely won't be riding my Icon as it would complicate logistics for my wife and me later. Either way we'll just enjoy the scene, plus the parking lot always seems to pull in other interesting bikes :)

It should be as I'm getting there pretty much when they open and fully intend on taking the bike home tomorrow. There's a possibility I have my father in law ride it home for me. Depending on how many people are around I might be a little nervous. Only been riding a little over a year. I've seen too many videos on the internet showing people wrecking their bikes pulling out of the dealership. :)

I'm likely to arrive in late morning - maybe 11 am. It's good that you're treating the Scrambler with respect in terms of being a relatively new rider. It's not the fastest bike I've ridden but it can still get you into trouble, especially if you've never tested one out before. I do like that if you ride with a gentle hand it won't complain and be fairly docile. Crack the throttle though and it will deliver some fun :) Maybe we'll bump into you up there, but either way enjoy and ride safe!

Same here Anthony (talk about name coincidence)! We had a great time talking with you, your wife, and your Dad :) I also enjoyed finally seeing the Full Throttle version of the Scrambler. It was neat to see it go from crate to final delivery to you - thanks for letting us share the experience:) Enjoy your first miles on the Scrambler and we'll keep in touch!
