Again i saw it it at the NEC show. From what I can remember, it's not something that would peel off easily. However, once it's aged and weathered I could imagine it cracking, especially if you carry a pillion often on it.
It certainly doesn't seem like the highest quality materials are being used on the seat. There are a lot of custom seats that you can get so I am almost less concerned with the stock seat as I think that I'll probably go for something after market.
it's for times like this that i almost always prefer going custom, getting it done my way. plus at least then you don't have a seat that a ton of others have as well.
I found that seat to be a turn off to me when the bikes were first presented, then later I decided I just didn't like the "racer ride" look on the scrambler which moved me to the Enduro or Classic. First I ordered the enduro but after seeing the color of green in person, I switched to the Classic
Poor design. They should have stitched it. Even applying a paint coat to the area would still cause it to discolor. An area like this that is always being roughed up by body weigh movement should be a lot stronger material and not glued. I would rather go with the full brown leather or whatever material it is but I've heard of that tearing as well??
