Unfortunately the pegs are just in line with my calves when I'm stopped.... this means that I either put my calves in front of them and they tend to get hit on take off, or I use only one leg down which saves on calf. I can't put my legs behind as I am a bit short and I can't scoot back far enougj.

Ah I hate this. I had the same problem on my sportster - at least these foot pegs swivel up - the bloody harley's would just stay rigid (they have some weird swing up but it wasn't ideal).

Yep! They're in a weird spot at stop lights. It feels weird putting my legs in front of them and resting the pegs on my calves. Meanwhile on my BMW the peg location is fine, but they are just made of solid metal bar, so I've bruised my shins when maneuvering the bike out of the garage, etc.. At least the Ducati has not bruised me yet.

They're not great, but they're far better than the pegs on the FZ1 I had before the Scrambler. After a long trip on that bike my calves always had masses of bruises.

My legs are pretty long so I just put them to the side of the pegs (while standing in the shop). Could still go flat footed and that felt pretty comfortable.

Tried sitting on a Monster too and that felt bad just as everyone above is describing.

On the Monster with the short inseam, I was on the balls of my feet. The pegs were behind. I generally leaned the bike slightly at stops anyways, so the pegs were not really an issue. The scrambler is the first bike where I can flat foot

I care more about the position when I moving. >:D

The thing with the pegs being front of my shins, makes me stay out of short boots and stay in full length 'track' boots.

So, that was the last comparison with the M796. :nerd:

Saw this helmet on someone else recently and thought it was great. His had a VERY dark tinted shield though. Also, his shield was a bit bulbous too. Looked cool, but seemed almost impractical. Can you share with me what helmet this is? Is it DOT and SNELL certified?
It is either the Biltwell ****** S Helmet or the Bell Matte Black Carbon Bullitt Helmet

Mine is a Bell Bullitt in gloss black. I have 3 visors for it, none of them the bubble kind, just flat. It came with clear, and then I bought smoke (a very normal tint, perfect for overcast days), and I got silver iridium. The silver iridium is very dark, and is fantastic on sunny days. I absolutely love it, but it's too dark if it's an overcast day. Luckily they swap out easy enough.
