First off this is my first Motorcycle.. I had a Vespa 250GT scooter for a few years but usually only went 15 miles at a time on it zipping around town..

I now have the Scrambler Urban Enduro. I live in Memphis, TN and relocation to Dallas, TX so thought I would go ahead and ride my bike over. When I left Memphis I had 42 Miles on the Scrambler that's all the miles I have ever put on a full size motorcycle. On a 480 mile trip that usually takes 7 hours I pulled into Dallas 11.5 hours later feeling like I had been wrestling a Silver Back Gorilla the whole way.

I had to make a lot of stops because my ass hurt..... ALOT. I had read the seat wasn't great, to give it some time to break in. I'll tell you what, neither my ass or the seat broke in. I went out to get on my bike to go to work and my butthole clenched before I could sit down. Wish Corbin or someone would start making a better seat.. (on a side note are the seats on the other models leather? The one on the Urban Enduro is vinyl and seems sort of cheap.. it's the only part I don't care for on the bike) Also the Suspension is pretty stiff.. hitting patchy road made my eyeballs rattle and hit a dip int he road that made my teeth slap together.

I stared at those big hogs going down the road, envying their big padded comfy looking seats and their windshields. 480miles of feeling like your head is being sucked off your shoulders while your keeping up with traffic at 80-85mph.

Everything on the bike worked great. I never felt the engine super hot like some have stated. I got hot all over when I was in stop and go traffic for about 10 miles but while moving heat wasn't a problem.

Need to find a Mount for my phone. I do some mountain biking and use a Rokform case and need to see if they make a mount that will fit the urban enduro.. I don't see many places to mount it.. also need to figure out how people are routing their USB cables so they don't melt.

Glad I did the ride but will be doing shorter rides with it in the future.

The seat on the Icon is even cheaper vinyl and cut worse. I think I've ridden maybe 150 miles max in one stretch and I was ready to be parked. For me the seat is OK but the stiff shocks and the seat height bother me more than the thin-ness of the padding. If I was sitting an inch or more higher and the extra padding soaked up what the suspension can't handle, I'd be way better off. I ordered the comfort seat which looks like a thicker version of your seat. I'll let you know if I end up liking it or not, but 11 hours of riding on a Scrambler in stock form has to be a special form of torture.

It's not the only bike to suffer from this. I can't ride enduro bikes any longer (anything with a skinny seat really.)

You might not like a Corbin seat. They're pretty hard, but they're wide. I have ridden 2400 miles in a week with a 'gunfighter' solo Corbin seat and it was OK though. 400 miles in a day was doable, but again you might want something softer if you really do want to ride 500 miles in a day. That's a lot of distance on a bike like this. You get my vote for iron butt Scrambler edition.

I have said that the seat breaks in, but the millage I am talking about is 1000 plus miles. I am at 1600 miles and find the seat to be okay, not great by any measure but okay. I have ridden 350 miles in a day, and with a few stops to stretch the legs, I was fine. Usually I like to stop every hour or so at a minimum to walk around and stretch out. Of course this is recommended when riding any bike, no matter the comfort level.

All that said, I am still thinking of getting a custom seat made for more reasons than comfort alone, if the price is right that is.

I generally make it right around the time for fuel when I need to stretch my legs and have a spot of coffee on any bike so the scrambler is no different for me than my Sportster was with the exception of the miles going by much faster than I remember :)

I have no plans to change the seat but the suspension will be getting some upgrades at some point.

Ive said it before and I'll say it again.
You guys need to ride a bicycle from time to time to toughen up your delicate backsides!

480 miles on a new seat is brave, Ray. You have probably toughened up your sitting parts and after a few days you will be fine. Don't order a new seat just yet.

One of the worst seats I've encountered, both for position and seat density! I put a gel pad on it and that helped - but it looks so bad. My 67 year old butt aches after an hour and after two I have to get off it or else! Standing on the pegs helps but the pegs are so narrow that becomes uncomfortable after standing very briefly. I put 1800 miles on my Icon and the seat hasn't gotten anymore comfy. That seat has to be modified or replaced,

The seat honestly just takes longer to soften. I had the same troubles: sore cheeks, sore tailbone, whining wife....
We have about 1700 miles on the Icon now and the seat is substantially better. No tailbone pain at all and I go gas up intervals without trouble

At about 1000 miles I no longer think about the seat (Icon). I thought I would change the seat for the first 500 miles and then it started to feel better. Two hours, then stop for fuel... feels fine to me.

I'm at 2500km and the seat is still literally a pain in the ass. I don't think it'll break in, will need some aftermarket fix. Maybe a gel pad insert. But I'll wait a bit more to see if more reviews come in about aftermarket solutions.

For now I'm keeping the riding to less than 1h. Can't leave my little island anyways because I'm still waiting for the plates from the dealer after more than 2 months.

I rode around last night on my Icon and there's some nights like last night that the seat is totally fine and it feels like it suits the bike well. Having the dish cut out up front is good for generalized bad behavior like launching quickly or cornering hard. There was no wind here last night and running up and down the interstate system with no cars at 80mph was zenlike. I only rode about 70 miles, but it was all enjoyable.

It's between 30 and 32 inches. The seat and pegs setup feels too short for me but that's a good feeling if you're screwing around for a short amount of time.

I feel like the bike is a bit small and I'm hunched over and my legs are too long. But sometimes it just feels right because it's easier to control too small of a bike than it is to control too big of a bike. Here's a picture of my general riding posture, which is not ideal.

I know what you mean. I did 440 miles, san diego to Monterey and had to purchase 2 3-inch cushions which I glued together to ride on. My ass still felt like **** though. I could barely sit on on the toilet seat upon reaching the hotel room-haha butt serious. Call me wimpy, I don't care at all! Corbin is making my seat as we speak! I'll have the last laugh in comfort!:D>:D

Just done my longest ride today on my Classic seat. I think the seams make it even worse. Only did 120 miles and can hardly sit down.
I also wore my new riding jeans and found I kept sliding in the bottom of the the dish, so couldn't move my position to elevate the pressure.

I found the Icon seat to be the worst of all the bikes I've ridden - I've never had butt ache but with this bike I did! As I am short I wanted the seat lowered a bit so took it to a bike seat upholsterer who was recommended. They took a bit of foam out, added a gel insert and put a layer of soft foam over the entire seat. I've not had a problem since, and have done 2500 miles on the bike, some days doing over 200 miles.

I've also replaced the stock suspension with a Nitron shock and it has made a world of difference :).

This is me on my bike with new shock and seat

Never had a Sportster, but agree 100% on
1. Fuel stops
2. Seat
3. Suspension.
