I'm assuming this is for the front forks? I may have to do both at the same time then. Good news!
Yes, they don't offer a 'cartridge' for the rear! My shock should be here Friday.
I'd anticipate 800-1000 USD judging by their current cartridge kits.
but whos going to install it? Will they come with the special tools?

Lol, I'm bringing mine to the shop; I'm picking up what you're putting down lol. I doubt they will come with the tools, but they aren't "special".
Hello

For the front fork, I'm waiting for a confirmation from my Ducati dealer, but it's quite clear that there's a need for a specific tool to dismount the left leg, if you want to replace the spring (alone in this leg) by a cartridge (or another spring).

Not only is there a tool required, there is also some light machining that needs to be done (if the cartridge is to be replaced).

Those forks were not designed to be dis-assembled,

My goal is just to replace the spring.

For the cartridge, it depends of the provider : the Andreani kit seems to be provided within all the necessary stuff to install the cartridge in the left leg, but it requires to disassemble (unscrew ?) the inner tube from the leg foot part (axle clamp).
This is just a happy sorta rumor. Swedish techs while visiting America last month have said that they might want to do a Scrambler cartridge. They said next year. I was with them for meetings and training and it wasn't even a bullet point. That's is all the non-official word on the matter. Just wait and see. A few months before release a official memo will be sent for a release date.

I believe it, just sharing what I was told.
I'm not knocking on you. I just reconfirmed with Ohlins to double check the thread accuracy. I've received a few emails and phone calls because of the thread and wanted to address it.
Sounds good, if you find out before we do please share.

Yes, it is a 41mm brass clamping tool. They are available but, as David Behrent of Fast Bikes Industries (the Ohlins retailer) and I have been discussing, it is most likely not a simple job. I consider myself a pretty decent mechanic but I have decided to let David do mine for me.

I have had my rear shock on for over a month and am loving it. I did get the cartridge at the same time but, because of the tool and the challenges of the disassemble, have not done it yet.
Hey Everyone, good thread here.. I just got my Ohlins Rear Shock and Andrianni Cartridge Kit. If you're in need, feel free to PM or email [email protected]

Joe, also my Dad, is an Ohlins certified in sales and service with lots of road race application experience. Cheers!
hi gents..

for the Andrianni cartridges (or spring change) you will need 2 tools! (they don't tell you this) however you can make the 2 tools from the one.

you can actually order the kit with the ducati tool required to remove the guts from your fork. this is basically a big metal tube with 4 prongs on the bottom, its about 9 inches long and fairly heavy. you could make it if you had metal tube. (I can measure)

you will then need another tool basically nearly identical but with smaller prongs to tighten your new cartridge in the left leg (no nut at bottom) this is why you need to remove the fork bottom to put a plate in with a tread.

I ended up taking a dremel to my duc tool and chopping the tips down to make a dual tool to do both! if you are in Australia I can lend you the tool if you pay postage. (pm me) oh yeah, when you get the foot off the leg you'll also need to bash out the plastic spacer in the bottom of the fork internal.. its hard to spot..

If you want to make one I'll post dimensions if there is interest.

the Andrianni kit is OK. it certainly isn't like a KTM front end or an ohlins front end. way better than stock sure, worth the money? probably, the best? no..

oh, and there is a spring in the left leg...

here are the guts and a diy spring compressor.. the stock internal 'thing' screw thread was real nasty!!
