The Ducati alarm as Jerry said 'isn't Thatcham approved' but a BikeTrac tracker from Road Angel is.
I live in London so I might have both put on, just to be on the safe side.

That's bloody weird Malcolm, I asked Carol Nash about discount for Biketrac as I've got it on my GS and they told me that their wasn't any so I didn't bother with that either! I sense a call to Carol Nash coming on. Grrr

Any more views on the Scrambler anti-theft device? Has anyone ordered or used it yet? Features? Is it worthwhile? Any other alternate recommendations?

I amputated two limbs and traded them for the Ducati alarm.... Wish I could trade back.

My last bike I had a $50 alarm off eBay that was three times louder and never switched off.

The duc alarm can only be installed by a duc shop, isn't very loud and most annoyingly switches off after 36 hours. WTF.

Does anyone know how to turn the 36 hour feature off?

I not sure its switchs off I think its a sleep mode, mine goes to sleep sometime over the weekend and when I go to switch it off using the fob on Monday morning it does not respond, then when I put the key in the ignition it does go off and the fob works again. Of course it would help if the alarm actually came with instructions which it seems nobody has seen yet including my dealer

Mine also didn't have instructions. I'll add it to my video list.

After 36 hours if you put the key in it can reenable the fob giving you a few seconds to touch the off button before it goes off.

hey just wondering if you have got any more information on this alarm since your first post?

I bought the alarm from the ducati dealer shop where i got my bike i asked if i had to bring the bike in to install it but the the gym said it was "PLUG AND PLAY" so that it should be pretty straight forward to install so i attempted to install it even though it came with no instructions whatsoever i manage to find the instructions for it online. the problem came when the cable that is meant to connect the alarm to the bike didn't have the proper end/port for the one in the bike (it was actually half the size ) anyway after this i put everything back together but when i finished i tried to turn my bike on but when turning the key to ON the head light came on but the LCD dashboard screen was dead and therefore bike won't turn on.

has this happen to anyone else?? advice??

Over Xmas holidays I had my alarm on and battery plugged in. 10 days later I shock the bike for 20-30 seconds and then the alarm finally went off. So even though the alarm sleeps it kind of remains active

P-Happy, thanks for sharing the link…I looked it over pretty well…looks like the unit takes up a good portion of the glove box area. Funny they call that a glove box…you might get a pair of surgical gloves in there… Does anyone know what the US price is on this? From what I'm guessing, it isn't going to be cheap. I'm thinking it might be cheaper to use my Glock as an anti theft device...

Hi.
I got my ducati alarm installed by the official service. They also gave me the instruction book.
Anyway, my problem with the alarm is that I can't disconnect it when it's "ringing". I have to wait the 30 seconds until it finishes.
Also, the reach of the remote control's signal is almost nothing; I have to be very close to the bike (less than 2 meters) to connect/disconnect it. :(
Do you have the same problem? Solutions?

It's so annoying!!!!

Thanks
