Ducati recently moved back into the Indian market, and
the flagship of that market re-entry is the world's largest Ducati store in New Delhi.
In the 1st press conference held in India since the announcement that Borgo Panigale would be back,
Ducati announced that the Scrambler Classic and the Scrambler Full Throttle will be added to the Indian market.
The first time that Ducati tried to enter the Indian market things did not go so well. Ducati's local partner Precision Motors could not deal with the size of the business. It was overwhelmed both in terms of sales and aftersale services.
This time around Ducati has made sure that all operations are closely supervised, and all personnel receive proper instruction. Early sales in India have gone really well, so Ducati is hopeful that this will lead to solid commercial success.
The Scrambler Classic and Full Throttle will join a number of other Ducati bikes that are already on sale in India. Those bikes are the Monster 821, Monster S2R and 795, Hypermotorad and Hyperstrada, the entire Diavel lineup and the 899, 1299, 1299S and Panigale R sport bikes.
The Scramblers that will go on sale in India are going to be built in Ducati's Thai factory. That may mean that the Scrambler will cost a pretty penny in India given the country's tariffs.
